  JK crashes with EventID 1000
Posted by: carvinae185@gmail.com - 01-29-2021, 10:09 PM - Forum: Help with Windows Client Problems - Replies (4)

[color=var(--primary-text)]I've been having the app crash after several minutes. Today I was observing network traffic on my PC, with Jamkazam open in a private session. I almost always have a backing track playing.

This happened once during each of the previous two Saturday's jams with friends.

  Silver plan time issue
Posted by: mlacoult - 01-29-2021, 07:06 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (7)

I subscribed to a Silver plan and had two sessions since:

  • one on Wednesday that lasted for 1h to 1h30min maximum

  • one today that lasted for 1h30min to 2h maximum

And my Jamkazam account tells me I have 1h45min session time remaining!!! That can't be right as these don't add up to 8h15min!

A Silver plan should allow me 10 hours of session time per month...

And when emailing 'support' I got an email back saying there is no support for Silver plans!!! What???

Win10 Media Relay Server notifications repeat
Posted by: starmusic - 01-29-2021, 06:49 PM - Forum: Help with Windows Client Problems - Replies (7)

After JK startup, I get a noisy pop-out notification that the Media Relay Server setup is X% done,
and it repeats every couple seconds with only tiny increase in % for 5 minutes!
I'm on a very fast connection, btw.
It's extremely annoying, and says something like "leave client running until done".

This time, it got to 100% and said it was done, but then started over.

What causes this, and how can I suppress the notifications or better yet do something to help it finish faster?

TIA,

Connecting epiano via MIDI/USB to Jamkazam
Posted by: RoSchu500@Googlemail.com - 01-28-2021, 10:44 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (4)

Hi there,
I am new to Jamkazam. I would like to connect a Kawai ES6 directly via MIDI / USB to Jamkazam.

I have the Kawai drivers installed and try to use the XLUTOP VST Chainer in Jamkazam:
XLUTOP Chainer: https://www.xlutop.com/html/chainer.html
Introduction video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZDQ1SsFlks

Somehow, I can not get it to work. Is there a simple way to get the epiano connected via MIDI/USB to Jamkazam?

Many thanks for your feeback!

Does Kamkazam work in Europe / Germany?
Posted by: RoSchu500@Googlemail.com - 01-28-2021, 10:24 PM - Forum: Help with Network Gear - Replies (2)

Hi there,
I am starting with Jamkazam in Germany. Until now I could not get the latency between two PC´s below 70ms. Each individual PC by itself looks o.k. (around 11ms).

Is that perhaps the delay to Jamkazam servers in the US? Is there a chance to get it to work in Europe?

Many thanks for your feedback!  Smile

  Jitter & Jitter Queue issues
Posted by: bowersox13 - 01-28-2021, 04:17 AM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (2)

My bandmate and I have set up numerous sessions together and we are unable to get our latency to an acceptable level. We are both using scarlett 2i2 2nd gen, ASIO drivers, ,we are NOT using wifi, and we have used all the recommended settings for our respective interfaces as per the JK audio gear setup. We also have fibre internet packages so quality of internet hardwired service is not the issue. frequently the jitter and jitter queue are very high and in the red during our attempted sessions. Everything else shows in the green. Can someone please assist??

Impact of backing tracks on upload capacity during session
Posted by: carvinae185@gmail.com - 01-27-2021, 01:49 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - No Replies

Lately I've been revisiting how much data I'm trying to send to a session. With only 5mbps on the up side available I may revisit trying to send a stereo guitar plus vocal plus backing tracks.
As far as the backing tracks, I'm not sure how they impact the total upload which is being sent to all four of my jam buddies.

I've been sending OGG tracks to the sessions at about 164 kbs.  How is this impacting my limited upload bandwidth ( 5mbs up)?  Maybe somebody in my jam group with better internet speeds should be handling these?  Sample below
Format : Ogg
File size : 4.68 MiB
Duration : 3 min 59 s
Overall bit rate mode : Variable
Overall bit rate : 164 kb/s
Format : Vorbis
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz
Compression mode : Lossy

  Panning and Volume
Posted by: kempjef - 01-26-2021, 02:14 AM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (13)

My friend and I both have Focusrite 6i6 interfaces, and JamKazam works well for us.  We are able to pan our personal mixes (voice a bit left, guitar right) with no problems.  However, when panning the Audio Input controls, my changes are heard by my friend, but when he changes his pans, they don't affect what I hear.  Volume changes work fine (I hear his, he hears mine), but PANNING does not.  This behavior is not affected by changing which jammer starts the session.  The only real difference between setups is that he's on a Mac and I'm on Windows.  My suspicion in that the Mac version has a bug.  Any ideas?
