Switching to P2P does not seem to take.
Posted by: SammerJammer - 02-05-2021, 09:47 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (9)

Had a session on Wed Feb 3. All updated to the Feb 2 release. Several members reported hearing crackling. Everyone running at 256kbps. All members have run successfully with their respective audio interface settings over the past few weeks. Even so, we each tried larger frame sizes but it had no effect.

I saw that everyone had a network path of ARS. We each changed our individual preference to P2P but all popups still showed ARS. We all resynced but same thing. The noise did clear up after about 15 minutes (15 wasted session minutes).

Improving Input / output jitter performance?
Posted by: Jitterbug - 02-05-2021, 09:10 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (3)

Hello, I would be very appreciate of any tips for improving my input and output jitter. All my performance metrics are green apart from these two which fluctuate wildly between green, yellow and red.  I have a PC / Windows 10 and use a Behringer U-Phoria UMC audio interface / ASIO drivers. Thank you.

  VSTs are causing JK crashes
Posted by: frank visconti - 02-05-2021, 06:15 PM - Forum: Help with Windows Client Problems - Replies (2)

I have been using VSTs for quite some time and often as I tweak them during a session it will cause the JK client to crash.  I have to start the app and reload the VST and rejoin the sessions.  I purchased a VST "chainer" which has been working really well to run a reverb, delay, compressor, equalizer, and a pitch $fter at the same time.  It is very reliable, but if I tweak the VST settings like wet/dry or even bypass on/off the app is still cra$ng.  These are all paid for-high quality VSTs, so I'd like to know why they make JK unstable.  Thanks!

Question Repeated crashes since Feb 2 update
Posted by: btdtgatts - 02-05-2021, 05:46 PM - Forum: Help with Mac Client Problems - Replies (1)

Something in the Feb 2nd update has resulted in continual crashes - JamKazam just closes a few minutes after opening. I haven't changed any settings and everything was working well - great, actually - before the update. I'm running a Scarlett2i2 with an Earthworks TC25 on a MacBook Air. I've tried rebooting, shutting down everything else, reinstalling my audio equipment. Nothing works. I'm happy to pay for a service that works. I had one before Feb 2nd but the last few days JamKazam has been useless. Any suggestions would be greately appreciated!

MIDI channel dissapeared, not able to add MIDI channel again
Posted by: olibc - 02-05-2021, 01:29 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Effects Plugins - Replies (2)

Hi,

Suddenly the MIDI channel dissapeared from Audio Gear configuration.
I try to add a MIDI channel and select MIDI interface and VST.
But when I select any other instrument but "Electric guitar" it resets the selections I made (including Instrument).
If I only select MIDI interface and VST (without selecting Instrument) and click OK, window closes but no MIDI channel is added.

Is this a limitation of free suscription?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

  Debugging failed audio packets
Posted by: tups - 02-04-2021, 07:27 AM - Forum: Help with Network Gear - Replies (6)

Hi everyone.

I'd be very grateful for some advice on how to find out where failed audio packets are failing to get through.

I've got a consistent problem whereby once we have more than 4 players in a session, I'm unable to hear any audio from Alan. In the newest release, the error notifications tell me I'm receiving probe packets but no audio packets from him. I'm guessing that something in my settings on my router or firewall blocks a route that jamkazam uses as things "fill up".

I use a Mac (macOS Big Sur 11.2) and an Airport Extreme Router attached to a Virgin Media hub in Modem mode.

I wondered could anyone advise on how to see where these packets are being blocked, or anywhere that shows how JamKazam tries to send these audio packets, so I can make sure all routes are open? Any advice on config to check on both of our jamkazam setups would be great too.

Thank you!

count in to start playing with jamtracks
Posted by: occhuck - 02-03-2021, 11:57 PM - Forum: Help with JamTracks - Replies (2)

Forgive a possible beginner's question.  When playing with my fellow band members we've tried using a jam track.  The problem we can't figure out is when the track will start playing.  How do you count in so all can start with the track on time?   The little spinning icon keeps spinning on some of my mates' screens instead of stopping when the track starts.

Scarlett 18i6 and Octopre: Windows 10 Issue
Posted by: Huntington Bay Studios - 02-03-2021, 08:49 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (6)

Hi all,

New to this jamkazam.

Trying to create 8 drum tracks and a stereo Monitor 1 and 2 out.  Jamkazam app says it's all there.

Followed the instructions to the letter, I think.  My Pro Tools in my system works great.  My issue is that I am trying to create 8 separate tracks of drums and the jamkazam app does not recognize any tracks I create, or anything instrument, mic, etc. for that matter.    Can't get any further. Did it a few times with no results.  I am not running any other App when using jamjazam.  Anyone out there have the same configuration as I do and got over this issue, or did it just work?

  Juno Gi synth
Posted by: Brian Kent - 02-03-2021, 06:25 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (2)

I'm new to Jamkazam. I would like to use my Roland Juno Gi as my audio interface. It has inputs/outputs for guitars/mics etc.
When I connect the Juno to Jamkazam via laptop USB I can add it as an Audio interface & it works fine with the keyboard, but NOT with the guitar.
Any ideas please?
