Trouble with recording with Jam tracks
Posted by: timb - 02-14-2021, 04:23 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (1)

HI,
Im still trialling the software but using GOLD subscription. Ive downloaded a jam track and have got my audio all working fine (presonus 96). I can hear the jam track fine, i can hear my instrument fine, all the levels are good on the software BUT when i i record the tune my instrument is barely audible on the recording?
Anyone know why this might be?

  The value of Private Session
Posted by: jkpalmer@mac.com - 02-13-2021, 05:52 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (4)

New to JamKazam.

I see the option to start a private session.  Could someone give me some advice about the value of starting a private session for solo practicing?

Why would this be better than just setting up and playing by yourself in a room with your own technology?

  Backing Tracks Distorting
Posted by: NeilFann - 02-12-2021, 10:41 AM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (3)

Hi, I've recorded backing tracks we want to use. They are wav files. When I play then, I can always hear them fine but half the time they sound terribly distorted to my singer. There is no discernable pattern to what causes this. The pattern is reversed when she plays the track, it's fine for her and messed up for me.

Any ideas, this is such a pity, we were looking forward to performing with them.

Silver Plan hours not as advertised.
Posted by: doctor_ego - 02-12-2021, 03:56 AM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (1)

My band mates and I had been using the basic(free) plan. Upon subscribing to Silver Plan tonight, before even using it, the app showed I have 5hrs 41 minutes remaining, not the 10hrs as advertised. We went ahead and played and now I have 3 hrs 20 min left.

Email to support comes back that they don't have support if you're not gold subscriber. There was a link to help desk that doesn't work because......... I'm not a gold subscriber.

Love the service, finally got it working with decent latency. Would like to get the advertised 10hrs/month.

  M1 + Big Sur + Full-Screen video = crash
Posted by: richard@tempestadimare.org - 02-12-2021, 03:50 AM - Forum: Help with Mac Client Problems - Replies (8)

Has anybody else experienced and solved JK cra$ng on an M1+Big Sur Mac when switching video to full screen? Mine crashed consistently. I'm using a Mini. This is a new behavior on my system since one of the recent updates. I had been using JK full screen for sessions mid January without incident.

Looking forward to hearing whether this is a known bug or something that's already been solved.

  StarLink with JamKazam
Posted by: lucasvilla - 02-11-2021, 02:41 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (9)

Hi,

Does anyone has StarLink as an Internet provider and uses JamKazam with it?  According to JamKazam, fiber optic and cable are the best for the latency. I can't get both of them to my place so I was wondering if someone could tell his or her experience with StarLink?

Thank you.

Lucas

  Volume controls
Posted by: chriso1972 - 02-10-2021, 03:52 PM - Forum: New Feature Requests - Replies (1)

Hi there, Jamkazam could really do with a a single window where everyones volume levels can be adjusted.
Its a pain that you have to click on each person to adjust their level, especially when more and more people join the session
and the levels keep needing adjustment.
Cheers Chris

HOW TO: Delete Account and Data (?)
Posted by: Tracker35 - 02-10-2021, 01:52 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous - No Replies

I have a duplicate account. Occasionally, people are friending me on my obsolete account.

How does one completely remove an account, all data, email address, etc. from the JamKazam system?

Jamtracks not in synch and poor audio quality
Posted by: Philip_VDH - 02-10-2021, 10:40 AM - Forum: Help with JamTracks - Replies (3)

Hi all, i'm pretty new to Jamkazam, and probably had the same difficulties setting up my settings as most of you. But in the end, i succeeded to connect my keyboard successfully to Jamkazam and get a good sound quality. I'm also able to launch a jamtrack on my side, and hear it in full quality and play along with it in a solo session.

But yesterday, i did a first experiment with a friend. After setting up his settings, i could perfectly hear his guitar, an we could play together with no significant latency. But  when we tried to play along with a jamtrack, things were different. When he launched a jamtrack on his side, he could perfectly hear it and play along. On my side though, the jamtrack came through in bits and pieces, got interrupted, and with poor audio quality. Although i could still hear his guitar perfectly through the jamtrack.

Then we tried it the other way round, where i invited him to a session and launched a jamtrack on my side. Same result but the other way round. I could perfectly hear the jamtrack on my end and play along with it, but on his side, the jamtrack didn't came through properly and it was iùmposisble to play along with it in synch to me.

Any similar experiences (and solutions) or an idea what the cause of this might be ? We were both using a wired connection, and (at least on my side) i'm having an upload speed of 18,99 Mbps.  I don't think it's elevant, but we are both using a Focusrite Scarlet 3rd generation audio interface.

100% packet loss -- constantly have to reboot modem
Posted by: TenMile - 02-09-2021, 07:50 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (7)

I've noticed that since about the December timeframe, that I have been seeing 100% packet loss from some members of my band.  Initially, I had thought these were issues at the other end, however recently I have found that rebooting my Cable Modem/Router appears to clear the issue.

Are there any particular reasons that require these reboots?  I had never experienced network issues prior to December and in fact recently I have had to make several changes to my settings to be able to participate in sessions.

My PC is directly ethernet connected to my cable modem, bypassing my network switch and firewall, and gets it's internal address directly from that box.  I found that bypassing the firewall cut the network latency down quite a bit.

Initially, sessions will start off well, but within about 20-30 mins I start to see 100% packet loss from some users (others are just fine).  I have tried to resync, leaving and re-joining a session but none of those options work.  The only thing that seems to work is a reboot of the modem.

Given that my bandmates are all within 5-10kms (Western Canada) are we all better off selecting Peer to Peer, Mesh Network or Lowest Latency?  I believe the closest JK servers are based in Seattle and I would guess that will increase latency...
