JK crashes with EventID 1000 - carvinae185@gmail.com - 01-29-2021

[color=var(--primary-text)]I've been having the app crash after several minutes. Today I was observing network traffic on my PC, with Jamkazam open in a private session. I almost always have a backing track playing.

This happened once during each of the previous two Saturday's jams with friends.

I opened a help desk ticket. Windows was updated to 20H2 recently.

Edition Windows 10 Home
Version 20H2
Installed on ‎1/‎12/‎2021
OS build 19042.746
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

There's a lot of 3rd party "legacy" code in the JamKazam client. I don't doubt that a Windows update could have a conflict. Hopefully this is not a difficult problem to fix, but you have made a great case for using Windows System Restore.

Hoping you have a restore point to fall back to....

I'm sure I had version 2004 before so uninstalling 20H2 should be fairly easy as all it did was enable things installed earlier last year.

RE: JK crashes with EventID 1000 - carvinae185@gmail.com - 01-31-2021

Made some progress. On my main jamkazam laptop, uninstalling the Windows feature update 20H2 seems to have made JK stable now.

On my spare laptop, a new Dell, JK would still crash every 10 minutes or so even after removing the windows feature update.  The problem seems to be related to trying to use built in audio instead of a true interface.  Not surprising, but I only test JK on this laptop so if it crashes occasionally it isn't that big a deal.
The Realtek audio has what it calls an ASIO "driver" and it generates these errors:

"Audio IO callback interval is unstable
Expected 2.50. Actual median: 3.93 var: 1.91 - off by 57.32"
2021-01-31 06:36:36.551 "Audio IO callback interval is unstable. Expected 2.50. Actual median: 3.96 var: 1.92 - off by 58.33"
