  Latency help
Posted by: budha747 - 06-15-2020, 01:14 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (4)

Just getting started with JK.
Trying to get a good connection for jamming with my friends.
Imac computer,  Focusrite Scarlett Solo, ethernet connection.
When I set up the audio in Jamkazam it says my two tracks look good with 13.11 ms audio latency but when i start a solo session to look at the stats, it says 43.8ms latency.
Why is that?   Would it change in a real session with friends?
What can I do to lessen latency in this system?
thanks
Bud

crackle break up from Focusrite solo
Posted by: blakelock - 06-14-2020, 07:14 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (3)

hi all.
yes!  I've searched but haven't found an answer.
using Focusrite solo (1st gen).  jamkazam partners sounds clear and they can hear me clearly but I hear intermittent breaking up / crackling (of my instrument only) on my end.  it's not normal distortion and I see no clipping or anything red on my end.  I've lowered / raised my frame size to all values but it's still there.

thoughts?

  Bug - Money incorrectly shown
Posted by: guitarman149 - 06-14-2020, 04:08 PM - Forum: Help with Windows Client Problems - Replies (1)

On the Current interests section of my profile the money in instead of being £15 it shows as 1500. It also doesn't specify the currency and I have tried with and without decimal places.

No input signal getting into Jamkazam
Posted by: budha747 - 06-14-2020, 12:52 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (3)

Problem is:
No Audio getting to others and no audio showing on input audio meter in Jamkazam “my live tracks” session.

Setup is iMac computer running Catalina 10.15.4.
Direct ethernet connection running to router testing 89mbps down and 6mbps up.
I have Musical instruments and mics into a mixer and then one mono signal going to my interface.
Interface is a Focusrite Scarlett Solo gen3.
Input into Focusrite is on input 2 with instrument button off.  Direct Monitor button off.
Lights on Focusrite show input signals coming in and if I turn on Direct Monitor then I can hear the signals in my headphones attached to the Focusrite.

Focusrite Control App shows:
Input Settings…Line input on Analogue 2
Output Routing … Says “Output routing is not supported on this device”    ??????

Jamkazam audio settings input and outputs:
Session Audio input is Scarlett Solo USB-Left
Session Audio Outputs is Scarlett Solo USB-Left and Scarlett Solo USB-right.
Stats look good except for Audio Interface Latency of 43.8ms. Why?
Audio Profiles show :
In/Out Scarlett Solo USB and
System Default (Playback Only)

And I did give Jamkazam permission to use the Mac mic.

Any help much appreciated !
Bud

Jamkazam has ceased to launch on my machine since (I think) Windows update [SOLVED]
Posted by: Nick Blair - 06-14-2020, 10:50 AM - Forum: Help with Windows Client Problems - Replies (2)

Jamkazam has been happily running on my machine for quite a while now with no real hassles. In the last couple of days it has started to return errors and now will no longer run.

I think that it coincides with this particular windows update - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help...-kb4560960 - which installed on 12/6/20 on my machine. https://screenrec.com/share/tBZLhbs5JS

As far as I can see nothing else new has installed on the machine that would affect it. Dropbox has worked alongside for ages now. And a couple of VST plug ins I can't see would be linked. But others may know different. https://screenrec.com/share/jQPx9KOEMd

When I launch Jamkazam it now sits on a non responsive white window and (sometimes) reports an Audio driver issue. And once it's launched.

Curious

All variations from 40 to 400 BPM of the metronome
Posted by: Mendes Jr - 06-13-2020, 09:51 PM - Forum: New Feature Requests - Replies (14)

Undoubtedly, after many tests, the metronome is the best way to play online with JK!

Congratulations!!!

Excelent idea !!!

Please, we really need all the time variations from 40 to 400 BPM of the metronome.

The metronome is definitely the right way to work remotely.

  Samson USB microphone
Posted by: doug@intellimetrix.us - 06-13-2020, 08:08 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (2)

I'm trying to set up a Samson C01U Pro mic in JK. I get a series of rather puzzling warning and error messages as follows:

  • Unable to open input audio device Microphone (Samson C01U Pro Mic).

    • No compatible sample rate (32000) found on audio device
    • Your input device sample rate is 48000 and different from your selected sample rate 96000. For best performance select 48000 as the sample rate.
    • Your output audio device default sample rate is 48000 and different from the input device sample rate 44100. For best performance use your Sound setup (found in Windows Control Panel)
    • Invalid Audio Device
It appears this audio device is not currently connected. Attach the device to your computer and restart the application or select a different device. If you think your gear is connected and working: Try a different sample rate
The Samson works fine with all my other audio software: Skype, Zoom, Camtasia. What's going on?

Thanks, Doug

JK Facebook group went to la la land
Posted by: carvinae185@gmail.com - 06-13-2020, 04:10 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (16)

This is a very useful forum, but sometimes Facebook groups are just too easy to use.  There is a group there on JK with over 2500 members but one of the admins did something, making new posts impossible.  That's the problem with groups that are basically owned by the original creator.  My view is that once a few hundred people join, it isn't yours anymore, it belongs to the public.

  Looking for a pianist
Posted by: Summera - 06-13-2020, 04:13 AM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (2)

Hey there, looking for a pianist to jam regularly with. I'm an alto with a smoky lower register, and I'd like to do some slowed down covers of pop songs a la Ella Eyre's We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off -

Ella Eyre: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8iwmdq_clSQ
VS
Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWZisnZ-RGE

I'm also into doing jazz versions of modern songs like PostModern Jukebox -
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCORIeT1...untEXsguLg
...but that's a project for more people of course.

Anyway, if this is you, please hit me up!

  Network error message
Posted by: incrediblesax - 06-13-2020, 12:33 AM - Forum: Help with Mac Client Problems - Replies (1)

I'm also a Mac user getting this Network error message:
"Independent mapping, independent filter, random port, hairpin"
Based on jamjam Administrator’s post, I’ve done the following:

• Under my Apple Airport Express router, “Enable NAT Port Mapping Protocol” is CHECKED on.

• Called my ISP (Spectrum) and was told I do indeed have a public IP address assigned to my router.

• Added JamKazam to my list of allowed apps in my Firewall.

After all this, tried to start sessions and it still does not work, still getting the same error message:
"Independent mapping, independent filter, random port, hairpin”.

Please help. Thank you!
