Make session invitation stay on screen longer
Posted by: carvinae185@gmail.com - 06-05-2020, 04:47 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (5)

Is there a setting so that session invitations will stay on your screen longer ?
Theyd disappear after about four seconds and if I'm looking in a different direction I just miss it

  Newbie HELP
Posted by: mm@soundsight.net - 06-05-2020, 03:54 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (10)

Hi
I'm a nerd.....but getting this to work is grrrrr   I have years as a Pro PC mavin and Pro Musician, and Pro DJ
I'm using W7 (SSD ,  I5 @ 2.6 with 12gigs ram) a Focusrite 2i4 ( have 2 of them  V1 and V2) ( newest dirver), and use them Professionally with 0 problems
I use Guitar rig 5 in my act with 100% pleasure and zero problems
I use Loops and Full songs to play over with no problems

I use Presonus and Cakewalk DAW....works great
I'm in NYC Metro with a great Cable INet system ( Optimum)

So now I'm venturing into your realm :-)

Only 1 out of 10 times have I gotten to full Green, ...............   grrrrrrr
I wanted to try using Guitar Rig to play a background track and I'd play along as a typically do.........and no dice
then it was back to setup failure upon failure ! grrrr

can anyone please HELP  :-) !!!

What Sample Rate ?
and what Bit Rate please ?

The Focusrite keeps reverting to a high bit rate?

Sad Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen - high latency after SW upgrade to 3.6.0
Posted by: Heathcliff_wh - 06-05-2020, 02:25 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (16)

Hi everybody,
as I had input latency and input-jitter problems with my Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen, I looked after a new Driver version and hoped that the problem was solved.

After the upgrade the interface shows a latency of 20ms in Jamkazam and failed the test. So it is not more usable in Jamkazam.
I opened a ticket at focusrite support and they said the problem is adressed to the developers and they have no clue yet. I shall wait for a new sw-Version

Does anybody has the same problems?

I warn you not to upgrade to 3.6.0

Best regards
HC

PS: I regret buying this stuff  Angry

JK won't let me configure audio input/output
Posted by: Nick Costa - 06-05-2020, 05:39 AM - Forum: Help with Network Gear - No Replies

Still trying to figure out to get JK to run using sound from Logic Pro X 10.5.

A few minutes ago.  I signed in and tried to change the audio and out channels.   I made sure the Aggregate Device and Black Hole to Output devices were set up OK and highlighted on the Mac under audio settings.

I tried to verify the channels were set up correctly, attempting to change one of the input channels.   I tried to change the audio inputs from channels 1 and 2 to 3 and 4, but  when  as I deleted channel 1, a message popped up saying I need to identify 4 channels.   It wouldn't set me change, nor set new, channels.

What do I need to do differently, please?

Also, the instrument display was blank and would not let me input the name of the instrument.   I've not seen this happen before.    Consequently, I was unable to continue  trying to connect  and attempt a test recording.

Thanks

Nick Costa

Lightbulb Mac No Audio or Video. MacOS Security & Privacy settings. Good To Know.
Posted by: GDJ - 06-05-2020, 02:39 AM - Forum: JamKazam Help Articles - No Replies

(These steps also apply to the Camera settings, for Video)

Issue. When in a Session there is no sound. The Audio Interface shows a signal and the My Live Tracks LED signal indicators are not detecting any signal. The Audio Device settings are correct.

Later versions of MacOS include Privacy settings that control access to the Microphone in order to process audio. This is required for applications to receive audio from the interface source

When launching JamKazam for the first time you may encounter an alert option to allow JamKazam to access the microphone. Click Yes!.

If you clicked Later, you may not see the alert again and will need to enable the option in Security & Privacy setting:

System Preferences>Security & Privacy; Privacy Tab.  For the Microphone, make sure JamKazam is checked.

You will be prompted to quit and restart JamKazam for the change to take effect.  You may need to repeat this step to begin hearing Audio in the session.

Where should I hear Audio after enabling JamKazam in the Privacy Settings? Assuming your Audio Interface is setup correctly in the JamKazam audio device settings, the audio output will be routed from JamKazam back to your Interface main out. Commonly, the Headphone Jack. Unless you specified another monitoring output from your Audio Interface using its own application.

Video Settings (These same steps apply to the Camera settings, for Video)
System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, then click Privacy. Select Camera. Select the tickbox next to an app to allow it to access your camera. Deselect the tickbox to turn off access for that app.

Comcast Users with High Jitter pls read
Posted by: WillCorvino - 06-04-2020, 01:54 AM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (1)

Hey folks fighting with Comcast and high Jitter, High Latency and inability to connect to much....(This may help with other Cable ISP's as well!)

I've been working with my buddy going through option after option including swapping out Audio Interfaces, computers,  I/O devices, USB etc with no luck.......................I would see 40+ms  and jitter in the red constant from him.  He lives 10 miles away!!!!

First things....

  1. He has Comcast with 250Down and 10Up

  2. He owns his modem which is provisioned and works normal on LAN in home - Motorola SBG6580-G228

  3. Modem was acting as NAT for LAN behind a 16port Giga Switch

  4. Computer was always hardwired to LAN

  5. All USB Audio Interfaces (Scarlet, Zoom, Steinburg) would not perform with less than 20ms of latency and jitter through the roof to the point of inablility of playing.  (hes was that guy who would join a room and cause the session to crash and make us all reboot just to get back in!)

  6. Anyway!!!!

After pulling our hair out for 2 weeks, i finally talked him into picking up a new Modem from Comcast (he was reluctant since he owned his own)  and he is PERFECT now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comcast gave him the XB6 Xfi modem which fixed everything!  Can you believe it????

Latency to him is now a constant 21ms!  Perfect for jamming......

Hoping this info helps someone out and is replicated as well!

Will

First time setup - trouble with Test Nework
Posted by: Ganderson - 06-03-2020, 11:28 PM - Forum: Help with Network Gear - Replies (1)

This is my first attempt to setup Jamkazam and I'm struggling to get past Test Network. I have the port forwarding setup 12000 to 12010 both in preferences and in my router. I'm getting the "No network test servers are available" error message. Are test servers up and running or does this error indicate that I have another kind of setup issue?

  DDOS attack by user?
Posted by: guitarman149 - 06-03-2020, 10:02 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (12)

Every time a user who i don't know joins a session username "KennyO" JamKazam freezes and crashes. They keep joining lots of sessions and leaving. Hopefully, this is just a bug and coincidence and not that someone is being malicious by purpose?

Can you block a user from connecting to you if you are not the host of a room?

iConnectivity Audio 2+ Interface no sound
Posted by: 88keys - 06-03-2020, 09:36 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (4)

Is there anyone using the iConnectivity Audio 2+ interface with Jamkazam?
I own one but I cannot get any sound from Jamkazam playback, I have another interface but the latency is 14ms.
iConnectivity tech support is trying to assist through email, but I may have to purchase another audio interface and put it between the iConnectivity Audio 2+ and my Laptop.
Thanks in advance
