Problems to connect a Roland td 11kv edrum to jamkazam
Posted by: Domingo Cortes - 06-10-2020, 12:19 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (1)

Hello
Im having problems to connect my Roland td 11kv edrum set to jamkazam.
Im using it with a MacBook Air macOS 10.14 with garageband or ezdummer for a few months now with no problems only connected with a midi usb cable (the same cable that printers use) directly from the drum set to the computer (no audio interface needed).
I downloaded jamkazam now but it seems that I need an audio interface so I started research and founded that I can use a program called blackhole that emulates an audio interface. I did all the steps that youtube tutorials says but still no drum set sounds on jamkazam, it only records the mic sound that my computer has integrated and the sound of the plastic or rubber of my drum set but not the sound that I hear in my headphones playing on ezdrummer2 or garageband.
Is there a solution or definitely have to buy an audio interface? My budget is very low right now.
Please if someone can help me ill be more than grateful.
Thanks!

I can barely read most of the grey text on the site.   I'm sure you young folks can.  I'm using a Mac with the contrast turned all the way up, 23" screen, etc.   Any suggestions for getting good old black on white?  I'm getting it in this text box but nowhere else.  LOL

Add "current status" to profile that appears automatically
Posted by: Rullian X-1 - 06-09-2020, 02:22 PM - Forum: New Feature Requests - No Replies

When in the middle of a session, I sometimes miss messages, invites, notifications etc. from other members because I'm paying attention to playing. Is there a way to send out a customizable message so that the person messaging you gets an automated reply that you can customize? Something like: "I'm in a session right now and may miss this message. Will reply as soon as I can".  Or even something simpler like: "User is currently in private/public session"

Just so folks understand if someone doesn't reply immediately.

Jam Kazam not detecting Focusrite USB
Posted by: dcp121 - 06-09-2020, 01:44 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (5)

Hi folks,

I'm trying to help a buddy get set up on Jam Kazam and running into an issue.  His Focusrite ASIO USB driver is not being seen by Jam Kazam when he tries to add his audio gear. Only seems to find the windows defaults. We have verified that he has properly installed his Focusrite Scarlet Solo 3rd gen, and that Windows 10 is using the correct driver. He can play his Bass via an amp simulator on the same machine with no problem.  I have the same exact setup as him and have no issue. Any thoughts?

Why does JK offer a different device for In and Out?
Posted by: BrionBell - 06-09-2020, 01:08 AM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (3)

Greetings...
I have a question:  Why does the Jamkazam setup dialogue offer a different device for 'OUTPUT' than the input.  When adding a new device 'audio profile' after scanning for devices, the user can choose devices from a dropdown list for the INPUT(s).  After that device is chosen, the user is offered a chance to adjust with an ASIO panel, then suggests to 'Rescan' the device after adjustments are made.  After that, in the adjacent panel for 'OUTPUT,' it offers similar user-input-functionality in that it appears that the user could select another device for the output that is different than the one for input.  It offers 'Same as Input' as well.  If I were developing the product, I would make sure that this choice never appears since PC architecture does not allow a single application space to use two different pieces of hardware, (this is because of the way Windows deals with devices and drivers in something called a 'Hardware Abstraction Layer" or 'HAL').

I'll try to answer this myself...
I'm ignorant with regards to the method that Apple (Mac) uses for processing software instructions to hardware peripherals, but I would conjecture that the software options are presented to users on either platform, even if they are not applicable for PC (Windows) users, and therefore, for users of the Mac, they actually CAN select a different device each for Input and Output.

Mac users?
Please comment....
Thank you!

  Behringer Xenyx Q502USB
Posted by: srgobeli@verizon.net - 06-08-2020, 10:18 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (1)

Hi,

I am connecting to JamKazam with a Behringer Xenyx Q502USB mixer. I am able to connect and hear Jam Tracks. However when I set up a session, I can hear those that join the session, but I cannot hear myself, and they cannot hear me. I play an acoustic / upright bass and am connected to the mixer via the Mic port. My questions are:

1.   Does anyone know if the Behringer Xenyx Q502USB mixer is compatible with JamKazam?
2.   If it is, does anyone know the magic settings to help make it work?
3.   If it is not, does anyone know a good / inexpensive mixer that is compatible that I can use.

Thanks for your help.

I am new and when I try to text my equipment for latency, it doesn't even see my interface.  The detailed help link is down.  I have the Universal driver that comes with the presonus interface.  I cannot ASIO listed in any of the drivers in that Universal driver group.  What am I doing wrong?

Install / update client on Win10 trouble
Posted by: Dimitri Muskens - 06-08-2020, 04:59 PM - Forum: Help with Windows Client Problems - Replies (4)

OK friends, looking for some Windows insight here myself this time.

Trying to aid a colleague in the UK but we keep running into the same issue. 'Remnants' of an earlier installation blocking a fresh install.

He has a desktop/tower machine running W10 and had JKZ installed and - sort of - working back in march with v1.0.3698.
Since then an update went south and after a lot of trial and error he gave up on JKZ.

Now, trying to get back into the game he has de-installed the non-functioning client, scanned his system, both manually and with some tools, for remaining files (there were none), did a registry scan and clean and manually deleted the JKZ folders in the two(?) known locations under AppData. Rather thorough I would think.

However, trying to reinstall JamKazam from a freshly downloaded current .msi gives the puzzling error that the prior version (v1.0.3698) cannot be removed upon which the install hangs.(??!)

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

  Change- Frame Size
Posted by: borstolone - 06-08-2020, 01:21 PM - Forum: Help with Network Gear - Replies (2)

Hello,

view days ago I could change the "Maximum Outgoing Music Bitrate"  and the the frame size manualy in the JamKazam-Gui under: Manage - Audio  Settings - Audio Booster like it was presented by Oz Saunds in the YouTube-Video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWMk4iqhNwE&t=521. It seems to be not anymore possible to change these settings under Manage......

Today I was about to help a friend in a remote telcon how to reduce his latency. Now it seems, that a lot of possibilities to change settings have been changed. Is there a description of changes in the last ten days?

Thanks, Jakob
