Two different computers/audio-interfaces with the same problem.
1. Windows 7-64bit with Presonus USB 96
2. Windows 8.1 64-biti with Presonus Studio 26c
Using the Presonus ASIO control program called Universal Control (UC) I set the block size (Presonus's term for buffer size) to 128 (or 256, or whatever).
As soon as I go into JK and start/enter a session the block size is reset to 16. 16 is too small for good audio performance.
I tried to downgrade the Presonus Universal Control and driver to an earlier version but the later one won't uninstall completely - it looks like it uninstalled but when I then install and older version and start it and check the "about" is still lists the later version and the begavior hasn't changed.
I 'could' rewind Windows back to a pristine state (though I'd lose some stuff) and then install the older program and driver (which I believe worked correctly with JK) but I'd like to not have to do this.
I don't understand why JK keeps resetting the block(buffer) size.
Heave a Behringer UMC204 that works great in JK with main outs to my Mackie mixer so I can
Jam and rehurse with you tube videos out the main EV monitors. But when I go on jamkazam
there is a loop..(Everyone can here themselves from my mixers input. I have a Behringer Ultrapatch 2000
if that could help. Or should I use the Tap monitor in on my Mackie for the UMC204? Thanks for the help
Greetings...New to JK! Have a Macbook Pro with 4 Thunderbolt (USB C) Ports! Would like to use Zoom Q2n as an external Camera! Usually have a Power Pack as Power Source plugged into the USB port on the Q2n! The Q2n also has an HDMI port below the USB port (Already being used for external power source) Wanting to know....can I use the HDMI port on Q2n (with adapter) plugged into the Thunderbolt ports on computer??? Will this show up on computer as an external camera...Will it work??? Will use only video and not audio of Q2n! Need to purchase an Audio Interface with 4 Inputs (Drums) also! Could use some advice on Interface with Low Latency also! Thnx in Advance!
Is there a setting to define a default network?
I use wired for jamkazam but also have an open wireless connection to control my XR 18. There is no internet connection on the wireless and Jamkazam seems to prefer the wireless fails to open. I have to disconnect wireless, open jamkazam (now finds the wired connection) then reconnect wireless and XR18.
It's doable but inconvenient.
Is there a setting (like default gateway) to prevent this?
Quoting last email regarding new developments:“In the process of taking two steps forward, we have basically taken one step back, and we know that this has caused connectivity issues recently. We released a partial fix for these connectivity issues over the weekend, but there is more work to do here. We are also acquiring a network emulator (using GoFundMe contributions – thank you!) that can help us create and test more networking scenarios that happen out there “in the wild” to make this feature set more robust and more reliable. In addition to these issues, there are application crashes and quality issues that are caused by our “tech stack” – i.e. some third-party technologies on which our app is built. We need to update our tech stack, and this will probably require about 3 months, but once we’ve done this, the reliability of the platform will be much improved.“
So what happened? In July they asked for contributions und in order to make „massive improveements“. Then the app became more and instable and crashes a lot. And finally, when it seems that the improvements are about to be finished - JK becomes a service with a monthly fee plan.
Now i am not the type of guy who wants everything to be free. I know that workers need money and webspace providers and whatnot also do. But the timeline is really fu***d up and so is communication. Don‘t tell us in summer that this is a community-driven service so you need us to donate for improvements and shut us out in winter unless we pay a hundred bucks a year. That is just not cool.
During update, error occurs and update fails.
" the file path ... JamKazam-1.0.3843.msi cannot be found"
The uninstall function would not function for the same error.
used an uninstaller program to uninstall Jamkazam-1.0.3843
Fresh install of Jamkazam-1.03934 still fails for original error.
general search of hard drive showed not JamKazam file or folders remaining after uninstall.
No idea what to try next. any help would be appreciated,
Jeff
I am a relatively new user and haven't been successful in using JK for a session, either private or with others.
I believe I've the right equipment configured properly and use via Ethernet. I am using a Behringer UM2 audio interface and an external vocal mic and a guitar with pickup...all hooked up via the UM2. I am unable to hear myself or others in session through my headphones, but hear everything fine when on direct monitor. I'll appreciate tips or help. Behringer tech support suggests that it's a JK software issue.
On another note, I've signed up for the Gold premium package and believe I have access to tech support from JK, but I only find access to the Chat function on JK. I posted there yesterday without any result.
When in a session, I am having an issue hearing sessions in both sides of my headphones. I've recorded a test session using a vocal input and an instrument input, and can hear both sides. However, when in a public session, I hear only on one side.
I'm using M-box Pro 3 into iMac 10.13.6. There are no latency issues, nor other problems playing with other players. Just that I only have audio in one ear.
I'm a new user of JamKazam. I’ve got my hardware set up and running correctly, now I need to find some folks to jam with. On both the web and windows client versions, the Musicians page does not load. All that displays is some rotating blocks. Anyone else seeing this?
Can anyone provide any tips to eliminate or reduce the following types of background noises:-
- When there is a background sound which is close to playing in a bucket and the sound isn't exactly an echo.
- When there is a background buzz
- There is occasional static.
