  Linux beta version: no recording?
Posted by: Nassara - 12-27-2020, 10:51 AM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (3)

I downloaded and installed the Linux Beta version of Jamkazam. All works well (no video, but I don't mind). But I can't seem te record a session... Is this due to the beta version, of can it be overcome? With the recording available, I think it will be useable for me...

  Streaming to Facebook not working
Posted by: michael@pastushkov.com - 12-27-2020, 04:30 AM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (2)

Hello,

I am able to stream to YouTube, but when I enter Facebook's server & key, the press Start Broadcast it ends up almost right away. I am getting two notifications: Live Stream Started, and then Live Stream Shutdown. Facebook preview is waiting for the stream, and nothing shows up. I am on Mac (High Sierra, 10.13.6) with the latest version JamKazaa. Please help if you can.

Computer display issues with audio setup JK
Posted by: hhoffman - 12-26-2020, 08:34 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (3)

Computer: Dell XPS 15 9560 laptop
Windows: Windows 10 Home version 1909

After clicking "NEXT" in the "Add New Gear" screen, the screen becomes scrambled with unreadable text (see file attachment).
(Note: I found that if I copy and paste text to a Word document, I am able to clearly read the text.)

I would greatly appreciate any assistance in resolving this problem.

Using Line 6 Pocket Pod with MOTU M2 interface
Posted by: nswerdlow@ucsd.edu - 12-26-2020, 06:33 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (2)

Novice question: Running my Strat -> MOTU M2 interface -> computer results in very thin, tinny sound; not so with my Martin with bridge pick-up, which gives full beefy sound. Was told to try running Strat first through Line 6 Pocket Pod then to interface would create amp-like sound; anyone have experience with this configuration (guitar -> Line 6 -> MOTU M2 -> computer)? Recommend it?

can't hear myself in my headphones
Posted by: fiddlelaura - 12-25-2020, 07:22 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (5)

I having been attending informal tune sessions with friends and mostly things have gone smoothly. My problem is that I cannot hear myself in my headphones. I can hear all the other participants, but not my own voice. I have fiddled with volume knobs and various sliders, and I've jiggled cables and changed my adapter plug, to no avail. My solution has been to put the headphones on one ear only so I hear myself in "real time" while everyone else is in my other ear.

I have a Presonus USB96 audio interface, with Bose headphones that I already owned, and Pyle PDMic78 microphone.

Thanks.

  Won't launch on Big Sur
Posted by: pferrel - 12-25-2020, 06:55 PM - Forum: Help with Mac Client Problems - Replies (1)

I'm a new user and just downloaded the latest version on a Macbook Pro with Big Sur. It runs but several plugins fail to launch and when I search I get server errors.

How do I get the plugins to load/launch? I suspect permission problems since JK is not from an approved vendor nor was it downloaded from the Mac App Store.

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

  Session won't record audio
Posted by: tele81 - 12-25-2020, 01:35 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - No Replies

Seemed to have found the issue with ability to record audio sessions.  Not sure what the capacity is for an individual user's file manager, but if one of the participants has a reached capacity, either the record function will fail for everyone or as I've see that user will get kicked out of the session completely.  Solution is for all to continuously clean out their old unwanted recording files from the file manager.  hope this helps anyone having a similar issue.

Also, there are some recording files that don't seem to allow you to delete. Usually applies to those audio recordings that were disgarded and show as "pending upload". Has anyone figured out how to get rid of these in the file manager?? Thanks

Logging in from Mac after setting acct up on iPAD
Posted by: 4mal - 12-24-2020, 12:35 AM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (1)

I setup my acct from my iPad as that is where I normally browse. The IPad uses my user name and logs into JK just fine.  JK can send email to my email address.  (Had to so that I could activate right ?)

Attempting to login on Mac only has the option of email address, no user name.  JK now can't find my email address.

WTF ?  over.

The mixer has gone off of the rails
Posted by: TWDay72 - 12-23-2020, 11:45 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (6)

For the last several JK revisions, the mix has become progressively less functional. Today, the “personal mix” controls appear to be absolutely general instead of independent. That pretty much voids the point in having a mixer at all if it ends up being one mixer (with no aux sends) for everyone. Worse, when that one mixer is still sending oddly independent signals to everyone it is really a free-for-all.

That is particularly true when one of us (in our group of 4) loads an “Audio File” (typically a percussion track) for us to keep time with. That audio file is linked to the personal mix fader of the individual who opened the audio file so that changing either the volume of the audio file or that person’s personal mix channel will change the volume for everyone. That means if the bass player is running the audio file, you can’t have more bass without getting more drums and vise versa. Worse, if I want more drums, everyone gets more drums, regardless of who opened the file. That is unworkable.

  Duo Core Warning
Posted by: SammerJammer - 12-23-2020, 07:44 PM - Forum: Help with Windows Client Problems - No Replies

What is with the Duo Core warning? I believe it just started happening with latest release (or maybe the one prior).

JK's hardware requirements state Duo Core or higher.

Was this intentional? Is is a problem?
