  Musicians page not loading?
Posted by: erikfrye - 12-14-2020, 06:11 PM - Forum: Help with Windows Client Problems - Replies (3)

I'm a new user of JamKazam.  I’ve got my hardware set up and running correctly, now I need to find some folks to jam with.  On both the web and windows client versions, the Musicians page does not load.  All that displays is some rotating blocks.  Anyone else seeing this?

Hello

Can anyone provide any tips to eliminate or reduce the following types of background noises:-

- When there is a background sound which is close to playing in a bucket and the sound isn't exactly an echo.
- When there is a background buzz
- There is occasional static.

Thank you for your help.

Kind Regards

Colin

  Intermittent latency problems
Posted by: AllenM - 12-14-2020, 05:14 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (1)

Hello -

Recently I have begun to experience severe latency problems during sessions with musicians with whom I have previously jammed without latency problems.  I know that their equipment and my equipment are suitable.

We have had to quit our sessions prematurely because of these sudden latency problems.

I contributed to the JamKazam GoFundMe campaign, and am prepared to purchase an annual subscription, but only if I can be assured by the developers that the service will be reliable.

Is there any way I can communicate this information to the developers?

  Output selection problem
Posted by: ksipp01 - 12-14-2020, 04:30 AM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (2)

Hi,

Using UM2 on Windows 10.  For some reason the output is not routed according to the selection.  I'm selecting the AISO4ALL (same as input) as my output but output is still coming through the computer speakers.  All other computer sounds are routed to the USB interface but not Jamkazam output.
I am able to hear others in a session but only through the computer speakers not the UM2
I've reconfigured and rebooted...no change.
Not sure what to try next...

Thanks!
Kevin

XR18 buffer forced to 8 samples
Posted by: cliffsp8 - 12-13-2020, 03:59 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (6)

Hello,

First time post here. I have a RME F# which works very nicely with JK, but I am having trouble with my XR18.

Whatever I do in the configuration it always gets forced to 8 samples in the ASIO settings and that ends up being garbled on playback. I'm sure it was working fine until one of the recent new releases.

I have seen mention of this problem in several posts but no definitive solution which prevents JK from choosing its own "guess".

Does anyone have a way forward for me, please?

Thx

Cliff

  History has disappeared

Hi

Often after a session I would use my profile history to recall the details of someone that I wanted to connect with.

I looked at my history today and it was totally blank?

I checked the history of a couple of other users and that was Blank too?

not sure whats going on here...

battery does notcharge when in a Jamkazam session
Posted by: dandante - 12-12-2020, 09:28 PM - Forum: Help with Mac Client Problems - Replies (2)

When my MacBook pro (running Mojave 10.14.6) is plugged in to a charger, normally it shows (in the power settings which I have visible in the icon bar) that it is either fully charged or is charging.

This is a newer MBP with USB-C ports.

However, when I am in a Jamkazam session, while the settings still show that I am connected to a power adapter, the battery does not charge, and the percentage that the battery is charged keeps going down. So far I have not had to end a session because of running out of power, but that's only because the sessions ended before the battery ran down completely.

After shutting down Jamkazam, charging behavior returns to normal and the battery begins charging again.

Are there any settings I can change that will fix this?
If not consider this a bug report. I did contact the support email address and attached a support log but have not heard back.

Thanks.

download speed goes way down when using Jamkazam
Posted by: dandante - 12-12-2020, 09:21 PM - Forum: Help with Mac Client Problems - Replies (6)

I have had great success with Jamkazam up until recently.

But recently, I have had a serious problem.

Running JamKazam seems to reduce my download speed (as measured by speedtest.net using the centurylink server) which then causes audio from remote musicians to be very choppy and distorted. (This shows up inside JamKazam when I look at a remote musician’s statistics, I can see the Bw Rx (if I remember right) numbers go way down. But the problem is not actually with the remote musician but with my bandwidth. Note that this issue happens with multiple different remote musicians (each in one on one sessions with me).

I have CenturyLink Gigabit Fiber and normally download speeds are between 750 and 950 Mbps (same for upload speeds). Lately, when I am in a JamKazam session, my download speed goes down to as low as 20 Mbps (upload speed is not affected).

Other musicians can hear me just fine (I guess because my upload speed is not affected) but their sound comes in extremely choppy and distorted. Latency is not affected much so I can still play with others but it is about 97% less fun because they sound so bad.

I know it doesn’t seem like JamKazam could cause a reduction in download speed but this is the only time it happens. I wonder if it triggers some kind of throttling by the ISP?

Does anyone have any explanation for this? Eventually, after I shut down Jamkazam, my download speed returns to normal, sometimes I have to reboot my router, and it may take several hours.

This is on a MacBook pro running Mojave (10.14.6) with several of the most recent versions of Jamkazam, most recently Build 2.00 - "1.0.3733".

If it was not for this problem I would definitely become a paid subscriber, but Jamkazam is not super useful for me because of this issue.

Cpu lowers when audio file opened
Posted by: carvinae185@gmail.com - 12-12-2020, 03:29 PM - Forum: Help with Windows Client Problems - No Replies

Not sure if this some kind of java/windows interaction, but task manager was showing a certain CPU % usage by jamkazam.  Before yesterday's update, it was around 25-30%.  When I opened an audio backing track, that CPU dropped by half or more.  ???   And there was still just one JK entry in taskmanager.
