  Jamtrack distorted, cracking?
Posted by: BigAl - 10-31-2021, 02:53 PM - Forum: Help with JamTracks - No Replies

I am quite competent with audio, interfaces, jamkazam.  For some reason I am experiencing major distortion with the one single free jamtrack - wish you were here.  JK sessions otherwise sound fine, everything else sounds fine, just he jamtrack comes in crackling (not audio-level clipping, but rather a crackling).  I have solo'd each instrument on the track, they are all crackling.

Any advise?

Thanks!

Do I recall seeing a way to find a list of people you've played with? Where was that???

  Players dropping out
Posted by: jwasco - 10-29-2021, 02:29 AM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - No Replies

Hi,

My group has been using JamKazam for sessions now for well over a year. Recently the drummer drops out so the bass player can no longer hear him. The others in the session can hear both the bass and drums but the bass player cannot hear the drummer. What is causing someone to lose one of the players in a session and how can we prevent this from happening in the future? We all have ample internet speeds that have been working up until now. Comments?

Thanks,
Jim Wasco

  Distorted sound caused by webcam?
Posted by: Sticks - 10-18-2021, 03:02 PM - Forum: Help with Video Gear - Replies (4)

Hello,

I have an annoying situation going on, maybe there is someone who can help me to solve this issue.

Problem:
I am in a session and have very good sound and can see other musicians if they turn on their webcam.
So far everything works just fine.

As soon as I turn on my own webcam (Logitech C270 HD) I hear some sort of sound distortion in my headphones, it sounds almost like hissing.
When I turn off my camera the sound is clear again.
I did disable the camera's microphone without solving the problem.

Does anybody know what I have to do to fix this?

Thank you in advance!

I’m scratching head on how to connect an Alesis command Edtums to jamkazam

I’m scratching head on how to connect an Alesis command E-drums to jamkazam.
I’ve managed to get the basic drum kit sound working but what do I need to do to get all the other drumkit sounds working. I’m new to all this electrical tech stuff so please help if you can. I’ve been told I need software like GarageBand but how do I link that with JK?!!

  Color contrast in app
Posted by: sillyrabbit - 10-07-2021, 12:58 AM - Forum: New Feature Requests - No Replies

Low priority - this is a UI readability request

The readability of the apps color contrasts needs improvement.

White/gray letters against a red/orange background or white/gray letters against a green/gray background don't contrast well.  Also a primary red background is visually bold if not overwhelming.  It's difficult to read much less to look at for anything but short durations.

There are plenty of color contrast analyzers.  I approximated the app's color scheme using http://snook.ca/technical/colour_contras...,bg=333333, against the WCAG 2 standards and it didn't score very well.  In normal language, it scored as having poor readability.

That's it.  I still use the app, it's truly great, and I love that I can take lessons and play with my instructor w/o latency issues!

Thanks all and Happy Music Smile

BTW - Win 10, Focusrite Scarlett 2Pre USB, and I use Reaper for the ASIO driver improvements.

  How to change Packet Rate
Posted by: dannydep - 09-20-2021, 01:56 AM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (2)

When preparing for our band practice this week my band mate got the following item in his Audio Configuration Review Report:
......
6. Poor Packet Rate: Your default packet rate is '100'. A packet rate of 400 will give lowest latency. 100pkt/s has
7.5ms more latency than a packet rate of 400 pkt/s.

He changed his Frame Rate to 1ms which is what I have mine set at.....
If there is another way to increase his Packet Rate from 100 to 400, please advise?

I cannot find any documentation on how to correct this problem.
thx,
ciao,  Dan

Hi all, just sharing an FB-post by David Wilson (JamKazam staff) re. user support:

"
Hi Folks - It's been brought to my attention that some users believe (for some reason?) that JamKazam is not providing helpdesk support any longer. This is absolutely not true. We have full-time tech support staff, and they are actively answering help desk tickets every weekday. I see the activity.

I'm guessing the confusion might be caused by one disconnect. JamKazam users CANNOT sign into the helpdesk platform. This is intentional. If you try to log in to the Freshdesk helpdesk, it will NOT work.

**!! You need to click the yellow Help Desk link at the top center of the JamKazam app. This will open a web page in your browser to the page where you can enter a help desk ticket. That web page automatically validates that you have a gold or platinum subscription and thus can enter a support ticket to get help. If the page is not working (i.e. not letting you submit a ticket), that would indicate you don't have current credentials in the browser. In this case, you should go here - https://www.jamkazam.com/signin.... And then sign in using their JamKazam email/password. And then return to the helpdesk page and submit your ticket. !!**

Hope this clears things up.
