I was in a session last Saturday night, with a bunch of cats I never met before. There were players from all over North America - Florida, Texas, Illinois, Ontario, Alberta, Oregon, and possibly more. When I took a glance at the stats, everyone was on ARS. It sounded pretty tight overall; the drummer had a good connection and was easily heard (playing an electronic kit).
I made a recording from my personal mix, directly from my interface. It ran for more than 2 hours, with one glitch which happened when I had to resync. I've copied about 10 minutes from that session and shared it on google drive. The copy has been mastered for improved dynamics, but no editing from start to finish, with the exception of cutting out the brief resync glitch.
I want to say thanks to these cats that played in the session. I haven't been in the company of such cool musicians in a long time. It was great!
When I enter a session, my bass works fine, but the voice chat isn’t working. When I try to talk, it creates a buzzing sound in my headset, and I’m not sure what someone else hears, but they say they can’t understand me. I think they can hear me attempting to talk. (I’ve tried to get people chatting, but haven’t been able to get clear input yet.)
I’m not sure but I’m assuming the iPhone headset (with adapter) won’t work going into the Steinberg, as I don’t believe there’s an audio in for the mic.
So assuming I need to use the laptop mic for talking into, and am thinking my current setup is correct for that. (shown in screen shots attached)
These are my suspected problem areas.
The 3.5mm headphone cord going into an adapter, and then into the ¼” port on the audio interface. Perhaps that’s generating feedback or the static?
Session Audio Outputs in Configure Tracks > Inputs & Outputs; 1 & 2 are set to the audio interface ports left & right.
Configure Tracks > Voice Chat > Select Voice Chat Option > Voice Chat Input; I have ‘Built-in Microph - Right’ selected, which I thought would best match the MacBook > Settings > Sound > Output set to Internal Speakers > Built-in. Also, the bass goes into the left input of the audio interface, and didn’t think it would matter, but used ‘Right’ for the Voice Chat Input setting.
I’ve tried both the Sony professional and iPhone (with mic) headsets, but I’m not sure if it matters that the iPhone headset has a mic.
I’ve attached screens for each of these. If anyone understands these settings and can tell me if I have something wrong, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thx.

Hi. I have just bought a PreSonus STUDIO 24c Audio Interface.
I have downloaded the latest Universal Control software but when I open it I cannot do anything with it.
At the bottom of the main page I get to when I launch the software there is an icon of the 24c and associated description to the right.
When read that I can open a virtual mixer if I click on the text besides next to the pictore of the 24c.
However, when I try to click the text of the picture next to it absolutely nothings happen.
The reason I bought the STUDIO 24c is because I intend to start using the Studio One 5 Daw and the 24c is very much integrated in
that SW already.
In addition I want to use the 24c as audio interface in the JamKazam software because 1 of my band member lives in another city
and we want to practice weekly through JamKazam.
However when I try to configure the 24C in Jamkazam I cannot find a audio input device that fit the 24C. I have tried all of them.
I have connected acoustic guitar to channel 1 and an SM 58 mic on channel 2 and I am able to get sound in my headphones but only
if I turn the mixer knob all the way towards "Input". If I turn it towards Playback there is NO sound.
I have spent 2 days trying to get it to work with a lot of help from my computer literate son but we are both at our wits end and I'm close
go back to the shop and swap it for another audio interface or scrapping the whole JamKazaam idea unless I can get some help.
I'm new to JK, hoping to jam with a distant friend. I've read instructions that indicate I should be able to operate using my computer's mic and speaker (although I'm using headphones), but when I try to create a private session, I get popups indicating either a mismatch between input and output sample rates or simply "unable to open output device". In this condition, I'm unable to create a session. Any suggestions out there? Do I need an audio interface to get past this? Thanks in advance for any help!
i just purchased Tina Turner's 'Best' JamTrack and there is a missing file in the individual track downloads.
It's the percussive bass sound (piano?) which is a signature part of the song especially in the intro.
How can I get hold of this individual file?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm a noob JK'er who has no other friends on JK. Being a techno-nerd I was immediately interested in using JK as a way to connect with my former bandmates since we now live far apart. My problem is that no one else I know has the tech chops to get JK up and running so here I am by my lonesome and I'm not the type who would normally stroll into a jam session with other players I don't know.
I'm a rhythm guitar player and vocalist...mostly dead tunes & covers. My wife plays keyboards/percussion/vocals and is more shy about jamming with strangers then I am.
I've skimmed the forums and see tons of good help for the technical side of JK setup but I haven't yet found any guidance on finding and joining jam sessions with people I don't know. Have I missed some online instructions somewhere? Can anyone walk me through it? What is the best way to search for and join live sessions with people I don't know...and what is the etiquette for these type of sessions?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi, just wondering if anybody knows if there is an easy way to find which session a friend is in currently without sending him/her a message. This is assuming that you know they are logged into JK and not wanting to go scrolling through all the current sessions. Thanks.
I'm new to Jamkazam and experience latency problems due to internet connection when jamming with my band (6 players). The iinternet latency is high, with values above 50ms, ranging up to around 200 ms. My personal audio interface's latency is around 5 ms and input/output jitter is floating around 0 ms. My internet connection is rather slow, with around 3 MBps download and 1.5 MBps upload. I am using a LAN connection to my router.
However, if I am jamming with one friend of mine who has a high-speed fibre connection, my own slow connection does not seem to produce latencies. The audio stream is fine and we can play in sync.
Is it just the fibre connection which causes the different behaviour or am I missing something?
I have a 2017 MacBook, and purchased the Steinberg UR22C because of it working with the USB-C port on my MacBook, and it's low latency rating.
In My Account > Audio Profiles, jamkazam isn't connecting with my Steinberg UR22C. It doesn't show the device as 'active'. When I click to activate it, it says it isn't connected to it.
I have screen shots below.
Is there some way to check the UR22C on my macbook to troubleshoot whether the problem is between the ur22c and my macbook, or the macbook and jamkazam?
I did have it connected at one point, but haven't been able to connect it again.
I've also had audio issues (my mic isn't working - my speech is a horrible static buzz), so maybe there's something wrong with my audio output settings? More screen shots below.
Greatly appreciate any help on this. Been trying a week and wondering if there's something fundamentally wrong with my setup.
I'm getting really crazy trying to setup Jamkazam with my Scarlett Solo 2ng gen.
I have setup the audio gear with ASIO USB, input1-2 and output 1-2.
In that ASIO I have sample rate 96khz and buffer at 16. (I have a pc i9, 32Gb ram, really high mix/mastering with cubase and lots of vst; never had issues).
I finish the setup, play the test audio very well and launch a test session.
And TADA ! no sound at all. The sound levels on the the soft doesnt go up, like there was no sound from the audio gear...
Direct monitor is never on.
I plug my headset or speakers always in the front jack output.
Sound with system is working as I always use the Scarlett like this.
If I open guitar rig for exemple, I hear my guitar, Cubase is working fine.
But when I try Jamkazam, no sound. My colleague dont hear me also...
I tryed uninstall/reinstall driver, jamkazam, etc...
