Blue Yeti on Windows 10 laptop sound output issue |

Hi!
Trying to help a friend going with JK so they can jam with my band.
They have Yeti USB Mic on Windows 10. Adding a profile after scanning for devices finds the Yeti, but when selected JK complains that the Yeti for output is not available.
Made sure that the system sound was not using Yeti for input nor output in case that was an issue.
Had them test with Zoom.us app. In Zoom app settings for audio, can select Yet Stereo Mic for both Mic and for Speakers. When do that, with headphones plugged into the Yeti, can hear test sound out in headphones, and can do mic test and it records voice from the yeti and then plays back to headphones. So Yeti and headphones are working, as is the connection to the laptop.
Back to JK. Had them delete all the profiles except the "Default". Rescanned for external devices. Add new profile. Select Yeti for input. Immediately get same message that the Yeti output is not available or is missing or something like that. And if they try to select Yeti on the Output pop up menu, which it is there, when ithey do, they get the same message that not available.
Got any clues or tests to try?
Yeti firmware update?
JK issue?
Thanks!
Peace,
Dan

JK Crashes when 9th player enters session |

This situation has occured on a couple of occasions for me.
I take part in a weekly (Thursday night) sesssion that draws players from Manitoba and New Jersy as well as British Columbia and Oregon. On April 22nd, as a new member was joining the session, I heard a high-pitched tone in my headphones, the Jamkazam window turned gray, and the application crashed returning me to my Windows welcome screen.
I tried several times to reenter the session. Each time the session screen appeared and players names and info boxes began to appear. Then...gone! Back to the Welcome screen. I tried unsuccessfully 4 times to reenter the session, rebooting my PC between each attempt. I could launch JamKazam, and it was stable, but I could not reenter the original session. It joined another session, this one with only 4 other players, and experienced no crashes.
This situation revisited me during last night's session. When the 9th player entered the session the high-pitched tone was presented and the Windows welcome screen welcomed me back. I could not rejoin the session. Grrrr....
This appears to be related to the number of players in a session. Any ideas JamKazam support?
Thanks,
george

FYI on Panning and Volume |

Everyone,
Thought I'd post this little discovery for others as an FYI in case you're having volume problems in a session.
While in a session with another jammer, he happened to pan his guitar hard left using the pan control under his "Audio Input" settings. I happened to pan him hard right using the pan control for him under my "Personal Mix" settings. The result: I couldn't hear him at all.
So a suggestion for mono inputs is to leave the pan control in the middle under the "Audio Input" settings and then let your session mates pan you around using their "Personal Mix" controls.

remaing playtime (silver subscription) |

Hi,
I have a silver subscription plan, which means 10 hours playtime per month. Subscription fee is payed on 26th every month. The remaining playtime shows 35 minutes, which is not correct, because yesterday I had the first session in the subscription month (from 26th this month to 25th next month). It seems, that playtime has not be reset to 10 hours after payment... Or will the remaining time be counted down to zero before is will be reset to 10 hours (what I would appreciate)?

Crackling Noise |

Good Evening
I've been using JKZ since last August but since upgrading to the silver plan I get an horrendous crackling noise to the point that JKZ is unusable for me.
My setup is:
AT2020 mic + Stagg XLR cable
Behringer UMC22 + USB 2.0
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) 2.7 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3
MacOS Big Sur 11.2.3
Instrument is a Hammer Dulcimer, so High attack and long sustain
I originally used a SM57 mic and older lead, but bought the new mic & lead when I started having this crackling sound issue, thinking they might be the cause as both were quite old. However this changed nothing.
I noticed that the crackling seemed to pulsate in volume so wondered if this was something to do with the audio processing. I found if I connected my earphones to the laptop rather than the interface (setting up the audio profile accordingly) the crackling reduced considerably, but I now cannot find a combination of gain and output volume which enables me to play along with anyone - if I turn myself up so that they can hear me, then I am deafened.
I have very little technical knowledge of audio matters, but if anyone can suggest where I might be going wrong it would be much appreciated.

Was this intended or a bug of some sort? |

Ok Wondering if this was intended or a bug of some sort.
Turns out that frame rate setting when setting up a new audio interface dictates the final resulting ASIO buffer setting that JK resets the the interface to. I use audio interface generically cause the following had affected all my AI's (Presonus 24c, Focusrite 2i2 and Behringer XR18) and have tested with reproducible results.
The setting occurs when you add your AI from 'audio gear' settings (deleting existing is required if AI is already setup for change to occur).
For the Behringer ASIO , JK auto sets the following properties during setup of interface.
Framerate of 1 = 128 Samples (48khz) 8.2ms
Framerate of 2 = 128 Samples (48khz) 8.2ms
Framerate of 2.5 = 8 Samples (48khz) 4.2ms
You can literally watch JK reset/change the Behringer ASIO control panel when you change the frame rate in the 'select and test audio gear' page during setup if interface.
The following is for the Presonus 24c results with universal control panel numbers (this may work with PS Audiobox 96 as well)
Framerate of 1 = 128 Block Size/Samples (48khz) 8.2ms
Framerate of 2 = 128 Block Size/Samples (48khz) 8.2ms
Framerate of 2.5 = 16 Block Size/Samples (48khz) 4.4ms
Framerate of 2.5 = 32 Block Size/Samples (96khz) 4ms
The problem is that after setup occurs the ASIO settings are locked and you cannot make a post change to sample rate in ASIO panel after the initial setup

Intermittent errors, especially after latest update |

On Tuesday April 14, JK froze with a reconnect to server error. The program would not completely load afterward. On Wed. there was an update. I could join sessions, but could not see friends and could not start sessions. I received an instruction from help desk to add a line the the client.ini file — didn’t help. The last two days I get frequent interruptions (3 times in a 1 1/2 session) where I freeze. I have to leave the session and comeback. These interruptions seem to be preceded by error messages that I’m assuming are BS for the following reasons.
There is a message about re-enabling video — I never use this feature and the built in camera is never on.
Then there is something about “an inappropriate sample rate (32000) with my audio gear” — I have never changed, altered or fuddled with this and it’s an actual physical switch on my Zoom L12.
This computer and interface have been working well for months.
Finally, I’m not finding “help desk” to be very helpful, primarily because their response times are more than 3 hours. The latest email, which was my response to a request by them, was sent almost 24 hours ago and there has been no response.

Quit after uploading downloading recordings |

Dear JK,
Just jammed on latest version after updating today. Sound was great. Everyone had steady jitter around 2.5ms and latency was from 19 to 24ms for everyone. And no one had to leave and rejoin the session to get things to work, nor even hit the Resync button. Thanks for the continued improvements!
Did another test recording of a song. Forgot to leave JK running after i left session for the night forgetting about the recordings to upload/download.
It would be most awesome if when you try to quit JK and there were uploads and downloads in progress, JK would tell you "uploads/downloads in progress", and ask "Do you want to Quit JK after uploads and downloads are complete?" with two buttons, "Yes" and "Quit Now" which are obvious what they would do.
Please? I mean who doesn't want this. Or something like that. Could be a setting that will do it automatically without asking.
BTW, i did search for this feature request in this forum but had no luck with the keywords i used in case this has already been asked for.
Peace,
Dan
