  Distance to Me not working
Posted by: AllenHopkins - 05-21-2020, 05:26 PM - Forum: Help with Mac Client Problems - Replies (12)

I'm a new user with a 2017 iMac running MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 and JamKazam build 1.20 - "1.0.2674".

Searching for musicians near me doesn't work.  I'm in Lafayette CA in the SF Bay Area, and sorting by "Distance to me" gives me a list of musicians starting with Tucson AZ, followed by Philadelphia PA, followed by other random and "unavailable" locations. I've turned on Location Services in System Preferences, but that setting doesn't list JamKazam as one of the apps to allow access to my location.  I have my city & state in my profile.  I don't see anything in JamKazam's preferences that would pertain to this.

Am I missing something?  Any advice?

Push to talk for the E-Drummers
Posted by: Compycash - 05-21-2020, 02:39 PM - Forum: New Feature Requests - Replies (5)

Hey,
I alway have trouble with the Chat-Mic and the Edrums hitting noices. An optional Push-to-Talk function on the spacebar for a specific trac would be amazing so my jam colleques wont have to listen to all the Click Click. Big Grin
Otherwise i just love whats happening to the software in the last months. Big Grin

Question Hot-Keys. Is there a list?
Posted by: Giancarlo - 05-21-2020, 01:38 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (1)

Many articles in this forum mention the use of hot-keys in jkz. The app itself has a menu option to turn them on/off.

So I have searched the forum for a list of these hot-keys but haven't found any. Could someone pls point me in the right direction?

Also I wonder: is there a hot-key for the "resync" function. I believe that, while playing in a session, it would be very handy to be able to resync with a simple keystroke instead of having to use the mouse to do it.

Any advise very welcome.

P.S. I am on a Mac.

Shocked HAIRPIN???
Posted by: MikeTranch - 05-21-2020, 11:09 AM - Forum: Help with Network Gear - Replies (2)

I'm a comp sci major, but have NO idea what this network error means:

'Independent Mapping, Independent Filter, random port, hairpin'

Searching this forum for hairpin returns nothing.

I did read whatever help I could find.  I have comcast internet, and I can access the router settings, just have no idea where the hairpin setting is, LOL.

Thanks in advance

Lowest Latency AI for Mac OS 10.15
Posted by: jimship - 05-21-2020, 08:07 AM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (10)

I have a new Steinberg UR22C with my Mac using OS 10.15. I've tested it on JK at 8.8 ms latency. I can still exchange it at no cost for another AI with perhaps even lower latency (I understand that both MOTU M2 and Scarlett 2I2 are really good with latencies at around 4 ms). Is it worth it to replace AI in order to reduce latency by a few ms., or am I fine with the UR22C and 8.8 ms latency?    - Jim

  Help Setting Up Amplitube
Posted by: StratTele335 - 05-20-2020, 11:08 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Effects Plugins - Replies (4)

How can I set up an Amplitube setting I have into Jamkazam? I saved one at a 32 bit rate, instead of a 64. When I try to attach it into Jamkazam, it won't let me upload.

Thanks

  Troubleshooting: isolating latency issues
Posted by: Cavery1962 - 05-20-2020, 08:04 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (10)

Hi,
I have been trying to use JamKazam to play with one other musician but the latency issues make it virtually unworkable.  He is using an electronic drum kit with a plug in on a mac and I am using a guitar and Mic through a Presonus Audiobox iTwo on a windows laptop.  We are both using WIFi but very close to the router.  When we try and play we can almost manage to play in time on slower songs but even then there is a noticeable variation in tempo and the faster the tempo the more unworkable it becomes.  When we connect we both have a green light on the latency indicator on our own connection but the Other person is showing as red. I have followed all the advice regarding improving performance at my end (apart from using wired connection as that is not available) as has he.  So my question is how do we identify what part of the connection is causing the problem.  When I worked in IT there was an ITIL process called the Technical Observation Post which was a way of tracing a fault by observing each element to isolate the problem, but I don’t know enough about Jamkazam and latency to do this.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome.

  Zoom Q2N audio function problems
Posted by: sbmackie - 05-20-2020, 07:59 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (1)

Set as webcam.  Works fine for video.  Is seen and selected as audio source in step two of the six step audio setup, but not seen during testing of same.  Two messages:  one says gear's not good enough, another says no audio source detected, and to try reconnecting source (Q2N) restarting sowfware.  Same result.   The associatate help link isn't functional either.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi,

So i've created several threads on here. But i came back after a couple of weeks to find people have responded to them.  I was checking why i didn't get notified of this. I found that I have to manually subscribe to my own threads that I have created (ie i see it below now)?  I would have thought by default my own threads I've created would automatically be checked as "subscribed" below to where i'd get notifications. Maybe there's a setting but I can't find it.  Maybe the admins can find a global setting.  Let me/us know.  Thanks.  if not, i'll have to remember to click that radio button manually everytime I create a new thread, or if I forget, then I'll just never get notified and find my responses on my own weeks down the road lol.
