My trio is trying without success to put together a JamKazam session. When any two of us are in the session, everything is perfect, no latency and crystal clear audio. However, whenever the third player enters, all static hell breaks loose. Everything becomes totally unintelligible, just white noise static.
We’ve switched the player who is out of the session and it makes no difference, any two are fine. It’s only when the third joins that the problem appears.
I am new to JK, having tons of problems like many others.
I am stumbling along with a Steinberg UR22C, 4 year old Dell Inspiron 3847, USB 3.0 port that only wants to run at 2.0.
I have managed to get some decent latency, but have occasional I/O issues.
I am able to play with Jamtracks, and JK says I able to jam with others, but I have not tried yet, as I have occasional I/O jitter.
As I navigate this endless rabbit hole WITHOUT an IT background, it occured to me to ask the JK veterans, what would be a perfect, gauranteed to work, combination of processor, audio interface, and audio software.
I don't want to be a computer technician, I want to Jam live music online!
I am willing to purchase the right equipment, just do not know what to get.
Hope that all makes sense :-)
So, last night jamming with a friend (been doing it on thursdays for a couple months now). Last night I set up a jam (Using my helix as audio device and set up usb outputs to independently send guitar out usb track 1, mock bass guitar (pitched down variax) usb track 2, and EHX mellotron usb 3,
successfully able to make separate tracks in Jamkazam...that way I can bring in final trks into DAW later.
Now for the weirdness. My partner is a keyboard player and when he plays an E...my E is almost an F in my phones. He hears my E perfectly. I get the latency thing in timing....but in pitch? Struggled all night with no solution.....anyone ideas? I checked and rebooted Helix, MacBook, replugged variax, USB, used different patch...etc. Latency was bad last night everything coming from him was stuttering all night...Oh, forgot to mention, his chat voice was pitched up too...I just thought it was his coffee.
Request to enable the Musician Detail pop up window to be available from the Notifications Pane. It is currently available only from the Friends pane. This would be helpful when evaluating potential friends or other to Join and Accept, without having to first Search from the name to learn and decided about them.
I downloaded the app, logged in, and set up my audio equipment. I am a singer with a microphone and headphones and a UMC 202 interface. No instruments.
I cannot hear my voice in the headphones unless I have direct monitor ON (in). If I have it off (out) I hear nothing when I speak into the microphone. I clicked on "help" as directed in the Step 2 video and it took me to the main YouTube page. (I actually got as far as Step 5, but none of the "instructions" links on each page worked ("This site can’t be reached - jamkazam.desk.com’s server IP address could not be found.") so I just kept going as best I could. But on step 5 I cannot hear the audio that is supposed to be heard when you click Play.)
I'm in a vocal quartet, and we just purchased 3 Focusrite 2i2 3rd gen. interfaces (I already have a Presonus FP10 that I'm using). We had our first rehearsal using the new interfaces last night, and we heard audible clicks. We recorded one song, and today I brought the 4 tracks into Logic Pro to see what's going on. All 3 of the Focusrite tracks have the clicks, which occur at different times from each other. There are no clicks in my track from the PreSonus. I'm attaching a screenshot of a stretch of waveform from one of the tracks that shows 2 glitches that you can easily see.
Two of the guys are running Windows 10 and the other is running MacOS (Catalina I think), so it's not an OS thing. We believe that we've got all 4 interfaces set for 44.1k sample rate. Any ideas about what might be causing this?
I know some people are using the 2i2 successfully with JK, so I'm hoping this is a setup issue that we can easily resolve. Any help will be appreciated, thanks!
When I logon to my downloaded version of JamKazam using my Windows 10 Pro, Dell Precision laptop with an Intel Quad Processor (2.7ghz) and 32gig of Ram I have to enter my user id and password to logon. Can JamKazam retain the user id so I don't have to enter it in the field each time? I understand having to enter the password, but NOT the user id.
I am NOT using facebook to logon to JamKazam. I am using my email address.
Greetings
I'm running with either a Yamaha TFx USB ASIO driver or a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 USB ASIO interface. In JK, the Yamaha reports 14.7 ms of latency I/O at (fixed by manufacturer - 48Khz), with a 64 byte buffers setting... JK reports over 95 ms of latency in and out of the USB ASIO Scarlett interface, and complete instability, (NO MATTER WHAT ASIO PANEL CONFIGURATION I SET)!!!!
Really?!?!?
So, in all of my other audio software, (DAWS, 'LiveWare', etc.), I'm getting like 5ms of latency, out of BOTH of my interfaces, ACROSS THE BOARD!
But JK reports at least three times or NEARLY TWENTY TIMES the latency?!?!?
What gives, Jamkazam?!?!?
I had a 'forced update' to Jamkazam today, and it caused my Yamaha's latency to increase. I think you messed up the algorithms to process the audio streams being generated by the A/D-D/A converters in our interfaces.
Meanwhile, even though a 'rustic' interface is presented for 'Jamulus' - I think I'm starting to head in that direction unless someone can give me a good reason not to...
I hope this gets better, and sincerely, I will pray for a miracle for the 'big deal' happening this Saturday! Unless you're working with one of Spacex's new satellites, , or you are 5g-connected end-to-end, you ain't gonna get any reasonable (network) latency, (especially across the Trans-Atlantic path!). I'm going to tune in though, that's for sure!
Hi All
I have a Steinberg UR44C interface with inputs 3 and 4 as a stereo pair from my keyboard.
4.65 ms at 64 bit, 2.5 in the manage drop down, it works ok but I am trying to transmit in stereo.
I've tried just selecting input 3, and also tried selecting 2 inputs (3 and 4)
I've got stereo in my earphones but when I listen on another system that I am setting up I come through in mono.
I know it can be done as i have come across guys with really good stereo sounds.
