  VST/AU plugins on tracks not working properly

I'm using Loopback on MacOS 10.15.6 to route various inputs from my Focusrite Saffire Pro40 and MainStage (for drum tracks) into JamKazam. I configure JamKazam tracks:

  1. Vocal - Saffire Pro40 track 4 with CLA Vocal plugin
  2. Guitar - Saffire Pro40 tracks 9 & 10 being driven by Helix Floor
  3. Bass - Saffire Pro40 track 21 direct in (active bass)
  4. Keys - Saffire Pro40 tracks 27 & 28 driven by MODX stereo output
  5. Drums - MainStage stereo output using Playback plugin with .caf files for drum tracks
This all works great. But the problem is that sometimes the plugins on tracks don't work. For example, if I add Helix Native to track 3 to use a bass amp model, there's no input or output from the plugin for the bass. However, the channel two guitar is now feeding the channel 3 plugin - so the bass guitar amp model is on the guitar not the bass.

It seem the plugins are getting the inputs and sending their outputs to the wrong track. Maybe the inputs to the plugins are based on the audio device channels, not the JamKazam tracks? So it works fine as long as the two match, which isn't the case with Loopback?


If I configure the plugins using the Manage > Audio Console tracks, then it works right. But its not convenient because you can't adjust the plugins from from the my live tracks view. You have to do it through a multi-step process:
  1. Open the Audio Console
  2. Click on the VST checkbox to open the VST dialog
  3. click on the open plugin GUI button
  4. close the VST dialog (or the plugin GUI doesn't receive any keyboard or mouse input)
  5. close the VST dialog
That's too many windows and steps when you're trying to jam.

I would be happy to work with the developers to demonstrate and debug this.

Setup uses a reverb VST on voice and a compressor on acoustic guitar.
Voice on channel 0 the VST works flawlessly. Loads when entering a session
The guitar is hit and miss. A VST will load, but 50% of the times the wrong VST. Both are Wave VST products
I can clear the VST or clear the profile, reload and it makes no difference. Works correctly less than 50% of the time.

I really don't expect an answer. I do enjoy the app.

Just curious if someone has run into this and have any insight.

Whenever I try to Cancel an RSVP, the following message comes up: "Unexpected error occurred while cancelling RSVP request (500)".  Perhaps the developers can look into it.

I would like to be able to specify some common early music genre when saving a recording, especially Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque.

It might be better to allow users to create custom genre, so that it would be possible to specify "Ars Nova" or "Town Waites" without having to ask for changes to JamKazam.

I would like to be able to specify a Recorder (the fipple flute, not the vinyl disk) as my instrument in my profile.  This is not the same as a traverse flute, which seems to be the closest alternative.

It might be better to allow users to create custom instruments, so the few of us who play things like crumhorn, sagbutt, rackett or kortholt can proceed without having to ask for changes to JamKazam.

hey JamK support,
- the available update file for Mac is probably corrupted, please fix ; now unable to use the App which is requiring the update.
- have tried obtaining thru different browsers ... same "no mountable file system" message
- tried repairing the file with disk utility
- others having same issue of not being able to run the update.
- my system OS 10.10.5

Several times now I've noticed that even with all participants in a Session Muted, I still hear audio from someone somewhere.

Why does this happen and can anything be done about it?

Hi all: When I enter JK, I get prompt to start update of new version.  So far so good.  When that finishes, I get prompt to download app (for Mac), but when I click on the download button, nothing happens (I've tried single clicking and double).  OS is 10.9.5, and I haven't had any issues up until now.  (And I can't enter or start a session.)  Any suggestions?  Thanks!
