Why can't I select a MIDI interface? |

Hi, I have had no luck at all assigning a MIDI interface, on multiple systems. Is there some setting I am missing somewhere? I am trying to connect an AKAI MPK Mini MK2, but the pull-down menu is grayed out. Ive tried this in multiple scenarios, plugged directly to USB, and also through the usb host port on my connect audio 4+ interface, which Jamkazam recognizes. Im trying to control a synth on a computer I am remote-logging into from home. Thanks in advance!

Too much me in the mix |

I am using a Zoom UAC8 interface, which does not have a direct monitoring switch. I am having trouble lowering my instrument and vocals for my personal JK mix while leaving enough of both for other jammers to interact.
When I adjust individually using JK channel mute (respectively, electric guitar and vocal), and much to my surprise and displeasure, such muting does not take the referenced input out of my headphone mix, but does impact by dramatically reducing what others hear (even though, according to JK instructions, it's not supposed to affect anything but my personal JK mix; likewise with the JK slider. I conclude that my interface simultaneously feeds my input and output output to my headphone mix, and what I seek is a way around that.
The UAC8 allows me to set gain, and has individual sliders for each input. On the AOC8, if I mute a channel, or reduce its volume by use of the interface slider conctrol that input is removed entirely from (if muted) or adjusted proportionally from the output mix in relation to using the slider. With the UAC8, I can also loop back, but that function doesn't seem to apply to real time external input, but rather to streamed or file sources (like programmed drums or downloaded sound files) which I use, for example, for recording.
I believe my interface sends my input automatically to my headphones. Can someone suggest a work around so I can bypass my input so it doesn't come through my headphones, but still is preserved and remains as set in the output sent to JK?
Got it. You can select specific outputs on the UAC8, thereby removing the input channels from the output mix. On the software for the interface, UAC 8 Mix Effects you can choose by pairs of channels, line out only, which appears to allow the faders to impact the headphone mix, but not the line out presence. Specifically, by choosing line out1/2 rather than main out, that's what goes to the headphones.

exporting individual tracks? |

Hey y'all
I'm a newbie here, so thanks in advance.
Is it possible to export the individual instrument tracks you hear in a JamTrack session and if so, what kind of file would it be?
For example, I bought "Hold On" by the Alabama Shakes and would like to listen to the bass part on my iPhone when I exercise to help memorize it. Can that happen?

Hearing Protools and Logix During Jamkazam Session |

Hi. Me and my musical partner are using Jamkazam to write music together. He uses Protools and I use Logic Pro. We have not been able to figure out why we can't hear each other's software during our sessions. He can hear his through his headphones and I can hear mine, but we can't hear each others. We have searched various settings, and done Google searches, to no avail. Can someone out there tell me how to fix this issue? By comparison, we are able to hear each others software using Zoom by simply changing the Audio output settings in Protools and Logic, but we get SO much latency using Zoom. Since Jamkazam seems to have solved the latency issues, we really want to try and figure this out using Jamkazam. Any help would be so appreciated!
Thanks so much!

trying to add new friends and they cant configure their audio |

I am trying to get new friends onboard in Denver. since the last update all of my new friends are unable to configure their devices. up to this point setting up was fairly easy.
The problem is that all new people trying to add gear are not getting through the "6 steps". it keeps jamming on step two after they select their inputs and outputs.
Its seems like a glitch is holding up the ability to get a "valid" audio configuration, as we keep getting stuck on screen #2 in the audio gear set up.
Anyone else having this issue since the last update a few days ago? Was so excited to show my friends whats going on and we cant even configure audio at all.
Stuck on page #2 - selecting input and outputs - wont advance to next page or officially finish audio device configuration.

Focusrite Scarlett Solo ver3 question |

I finally got my Solo to work in my solo test connection - it seems you have to have both left and right
channels configured for both input and output. My question: Why does it only show up on
the right channel? Is there a way to get it on both channels (mono)? Sound quality is not great,
but might work for distant jams.

Error starting latest version - can't find QT platform plugin "windows" |

Hi
I've just installed the latest version of Jamkazam 1.0.3835 on Windows 10. After install it started OK at first but then I got a Windows 10 'blue screen of death'. After restarting my laptop I now get the error:
'Jamkazam. This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "windows". Reinstalling the application may fix the problem.'
I've tried re-installing Jamkazam 1.0.3835 but this fails trying to find the previous version's .msi file JamKazam-1.0.3794.msi. I've searched my computer and can't find this file anywhere. Note that Windows seems to think the current version of Jamkazam is still 1.03794 although it had looked like the new installation had worked until these problems. Again, Windows won't let me uninstall it - because it can't find the JamKazam-1.0.3794.msi file, presumably deleted by the original 1.0.3835i nstaill.
Does anyone know if there is somewhere I can get a copy of the JamKazam-1.0.3794.msi file from so that I can complete the installation of the new version - and hope this fixes the Qt issue
Many thanks in advance

I have been using JamKazam successfully to play wind quartets. All of us are using similar setups with a FOcusrite Scarlett solo gen 3. All of us on Windows 10. Two of us had 50 Mb connections, and 2 had 20 Mb connections. THings stopped working when our ISP reduced the upload rate on the 20MB connections to about 3 MB. SO we all upped to 50MB and expected the situation to get better. But is has not. We have plenty of bandwidth, but when I connect with one of the people who used to have the lower bandwidth I get packet loss from here, and a message that "Marnie Sier does not have sufficient band width to send sufficient quality audio". But, at the same time as she is failing to send me 300kbps for her audio, we can successfully turn on the video which is using 2000+ kpbs. So there is obviously bandwidth, but JKZ does not seem to want to use it. I have looked at the posts here and done things like disabling IPv6. But nothing seems to help. The audio gear is all marked as good. 4 ms latency. Does any body have any suggestions ?

VST/AU plugins on tracks not working properly |

I'm using Loopback on MacOS 10.15.6 to route various inputs from my Focusrite Saffire Pro40 and MainStage (for drum tracks) into JamKazam. I configure JamKazam tracks:
- Vocal - Saffire Pro40 track 4 with CLA Vocal plugin
- Guitar - Saffire Pro40 tracks 9 & 10 being driven by Helix Floor
- Bass - Saffire Pro40 track 21 direct in (active bass)
- Keys - Saffire Pro40 tracks 27 & 28 driven by MODX stereo output
- Drums - MainStage stereo output using Playback plugin with .caf files for drum tracks
This all works great. But the problem is that sometimes the plugins on tracks don't work. For example, if I add Helix Native to track 3 to use a bass amp model, there's no input or output from the plugin for the bass. However, the channel two guitar is now feeding the channel 3 plugin - so the bass guitar amp model is on the guitar not the bass.
It seem the plugins are getting the inputs and sending their outputs to the wrong track. Maybe the inputs to the plugins are based on the audio device channels, not the JamKazam tracks? So it works fine as long as the two match, which isn't the case with Loopback?
If I configure the plugins using the Manage > Audio Console tracks, then it works right. But its not convenient because you can't adjust the plugins from from the my live tracks view. You have to do it through a multi-step process:
- Open the Audio Console
- Click on the VST checkbox to open the VST dialog
- click on the open plugin GUI button
- close the VST dialog (or the plugin GUI doesn't receive any keyboard or mouse input)
- close the VST dialog
That's too many windows and steps when you're trying to jam.
I would be happy to work with the developers to demonstrate and debug this.
