Jamkazam can't "hear" input |

I was using JamKazam successfully this past spring with no problems. Then one time, for no reason that was apparent to me, it stopped detecting my audio input. I am on Catalina and using a MOTU 4Pre interface. The audio signal is reaching the 4Pre, I can hear it in my phones, I can record to Logic no problem. When in a JamKazam session I can hear everything (other players, play-along track) except myself, and no-one else can hear me. I have added new, reconfigured and tested my audio gear many times. I tried to register a new account with a different name but my email is already in use so not allowed. I can not find info on how to delete an account to start over from scratch.
anyone got any suggestions?

Line 6 HD500X on MacBook Pro |

I did a quick forum search on the Line 6 HD500X and found very little info, so I'll ask my question here.
I'm new to JK and just working on setting it up. I'd like to use my Line 6 HD500X as my audio interface through my MacBook Pro (Catalina 10.15.6). I am all green when I join a session except for latency, which is yellow no matter what I change. I am connected via an ethernet cable directly to my extender. I have tinkered with some settings and the best results I have so far are shown below, all at 24 bit. The best latency I have achieved so far is 11.3ms using 44.1hz with a 1ms frame size:
FORMAT(hz) Frame Size (ms) Latency (ms)
44.1 1 11.3
48.0 1 11.8
88.2 1 11.4
96.0 1 11.5
44.1 2 13.3
48.0 2 13.8
88.2 2 13.4
96.0 2 13.5
Line 6 tech support suggested changing to 16 bit, but being somewhat new the the Mac I can't see where to change that.
Has anyone been successful in setting up the HD500X and if so what settings are you using? Is this a futile effort, and I should just get one of the interface units that seem to work with low latency?
Thanks in advance!
Bob

JK crashes every time I try to join session |

Until last night I have had no major issues with JK and have used it for several months. Last night I lost lost my audio in the middle of a session. I could hear the other player but not myself. After trying to re-connect several times it started cra$ng every time I tried to join a session. I uninstalled the app and re-installed with the same result. At this point it crashes every time I try to create a session or attempt to join one.
I have not changed anything and my interface works fine. Any ideas? running 1.0.3834 on 64-bit Windows machine.

latency suddenly went from 5 to 7.5 |

I've been using jamkazam on Windows 10 with my focusrite 2i2 with internal latency of 5ms, which has been great.
I didn't use it for a while, and today my latency is 7.5.
In the mean time, last week, I installed an update to Audacity and did some recording using the Focusrite. I wonder if that had an impact.
My sample rate is 48000 and my buffer size is 96 and my frame size is 1ms. I've tried resetting the buffer size to 48, and jamkazam keeps resetting it to 96 no matter what I do. I can't remember what my buffer size was before, but I *think* it was 48.
I really want to get my latency back to 5! Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Expand number of possible participants |

HI. I am using JamKazam for a choir of size 30 people. We are currently able to have between 10-15 connections concurrently with good results.
Is there a way to expand that number? What is causing the limitation for the number of participants?
We figured out that the total network bandwidth consumed by JK does increase in a linear fa$on as the number of connections are added. And that the total bandwidth being used must not exceed the network bandwidth of any of the participants (particularly the upstream bandwidth which is typically much smaller than downstream bandwidth). We have had success by using the feature to limit maximum outgoing music bitrate to 128 kbps.
Is it possible to reduce the outgoing music bitrate even further? For example, could we send only one channel of music microphone music data out from each participant, instead of doubling that data into both left and right channels (assuming that is happening now)? Possibly that channel could be copied into both left and right channels on the receiving side instead of the sending side?
Is it possible to add a higher compression audio codec also to reduce bitrate, hopefully without adding too extra much latency or CPU usage? (I know this might be asking a lot...)
It looks like our PC's are not hitting the maximum CPU % usage most of the time (it probably sits below 50% for most participants). I am not sure what else might be limiting the participant count.
Any improvement on this front would be great since all the larger choruses around the world are currently on hold due to the COVID crisis.
Thanks,
Hans

Axe Fx - III Hardware latency less than 10.3ms? |

Hello. Good day.
I am using a Fractal Axe-FX III to connect to JamKazam. I am using Mac OS (Mojave). I get a constant 10.3ms as hardware latency.
I checked on some forums that you can play with the FxIII buffer frame size, but it doesn't matter what I set it to, I don't notice any difference with the amount of ms in latency.
What concerns me is that if I plug in a very old audio interface that I have (pre 2003), I get the same 10.3ms as latency. Wondering if anyone has used the Axe-FxIII (or any Fractal product) with JamKazam and what is the latency time you obtain?
Thanks in advance!

Any suggestions?

Just wondering if anyone has come across this issue and how they resolved it. We tried restarting JK to no effect. Below is the text of the window that pops up.
Couldn't open metronome
Background:
The metronome feature requires that every user's computer in the session must agree on the current time.
The Problem:
The computers of [my friend] have not successfully synchronized to the current time
Solution:
... restart the JK application.
