Start Recording button does not respond
Posted by: gcoop88 - 09-07-2020, 12:51 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (1)

i have a new focxusrite scarlett 2i2 which I was able to record with last week, but now the 'Start Recording' button does not respond when I am in a solo session.
I am using a Windows 10 machine with the most recent focusrite 2i2 (3rd gen) driver and a Shure M58 mic.  I have configured Jamkazam to have a latency of about 11.   In a solo session I can year myself sing on through the mic, in my headphones iconnected to the focusrite box.     I made a couple recordings last week and can hear them on playback fine through the headphones as well.    I'm not sure what changed that is causing the recording function to not work.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

thanks

  Possible without interface?
Posted by: preservekazam - 09-06-2020, 08:51 PM - Forum: Help with Mac Client Problems - Replies (9)

I got the impression from this video that it's possible to use JK on a mac with just the built-in input and output, and without an audio interface:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-9PW50y...l=JamKazam

When I try to start a solo session it says my gear is not functioning/connected, which doesn't make sense because it always should be? (maybe a permissions issue?)

So then on the audio gear screen I choose my input as the built in mic and the output as the built in output – but it says my output is not connected. Then I get another popup saying my sample rates are currently in conflict, so I'm not sure which the problem is.

I went into the audio midi setup app and made sure the sample rates for my mic and output were the same. I also tried all the sample rates given in the JK app and changed the formats in audio midi setup correspondingly, but got the same problem every time.

I also heard that I should try closing all my apps and just opening JK, but that didn't work. And I get this same error whether or not I'm using headphones.

Any ideas?

  Jamkazam disconnects frequently.

Hi, not sure why I keep getting disconnection notice from jamkazam. I have all the right gear, and I used to have some good sessions before the site changes. Maybe it's because I'm way down under in Australia..?

Brick Network testing options
Posted by: japa - 09-03-2020, 08:18 PM - Forum: Help with Mac Client Problems - Replies (2)

Hi, in your videos the setup includes the Network Test option in the menu accessible at the top right corner of the app. However, I am not seeing that option at all in my Mac client (Build 2.00 - "1.0.3711").
I suspect I am having a network issue as what I am streaming is not heard on the other end (if I open it on another computer the link to my session accessible by fans).
So far I tried the default configuration and then the one I am attaching here - checked port forwarding and other options but the result is the same. Session time is shown correctly on the receiving end but no audio. My ISP is RCN in Chicago. Source-Connect Elements, Zoom, Teamviewer etc all seem to work fine.
Any help will be appreciated!

Photo Unable to change Audio Booster bit rate or frame size
Posted by: gblank - 09-03-2020, 05:47 AM - Forum: Help with Mac Client Problems - Replies (4)

I have been experimenting improving my latency and sound by adjusting the audio booster bit rate and frame size and settled on 512kbit/s bitrate and 1ms frame size.
I joined an open session and completely crashed the session and had to leave.  I tried adjusting my audio booster settings back down and they are now greyed out and I'm unable to change.  Any suggestions?

Jamkazam keeps asking to reload app on Mac OSX
Posted by: Richard Head - 09-03-2020, 05:12 AM - Forum: Help with Mac Client Problems - Replies (23)

I have a friend that I am trying to get setup for Jamkazam.  He has downloaded Jamkazam to his Macbook Pro, but each time he tries to get setup for a session he says Jamkazam tells him to download the app again.  Is there a problem with Jamkazam and particular versions of Mac OSX?  Or is there some Apple Security issue that could cause this?  Thanks to anyone can help .... heopefuly I can get rid of his frustration with Jamkazam.

  Client stopped working
Posted by: m.stockham@comcast.net - 09-02-2020, 07:02 PM - Forum: Help with Windows Client Problems - Replies (2)

I just had my first jam on jamkazam and really enjoyed it. After my jam I got this message: jamkazam: Live Jamming Music Client has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I have not heard from windows, how do I correct this?

Any time after I have logged in, if I try to change my audio configuration or join an open jam I get the crash.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  Severe echo
Posted by: jimivy - 09-01-2020, 01:08 PM - Forum: Help with Mac Client Problems - Replies (4)

Hi everyone, like most, I have been using JamKazam since the pandemic started. For the longest time, I was having no issues at all. Recently, for the past month, there has been an issue with my sessions that I cannot figure out. When I am in a session with my band, my joining the session causes a seriously bad delay echo for the other members. At times it manifests as slowing down their voices, as if they were recorded on stretched out tape. As for the echo, I do not hear it. When I log out of the session, it clears up for the others.
I have tried changing every setting in JamKazam to get rid of this issue, but nothing has worked. I am using a Tascam US-366 audio interface on an i-mac. The i-mac is over 6 years old and that is one thing I have thought may be the issue. I do experience high latency sometimes and it may well be the computer processor.
Has anyone else experienced this issue and can help?
Thanks!
