  Cannot hear plug in
Posted by: Francis - 09-23-2024, 01:13 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Effects Plugins - No Replies

Hi there:

I am using a Mac computer. Jamkazam recognizes my audio interface and sets up the inputs and outputs correctly. When I select a plug in however, it plays the pre plug in clean signal, rather than the post plug in sound. I should be hearing a distorted guitar sound, but I am hearing a clean guitar sound. Can someone advise as to what the issue may be?

Thank-you for your time and expertise.

Francis

Can't hear sound post plug in
Posted by: Francis - 09-22-2024, 11:41 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - No Replies

I am able to hear my guitar but for some reason, it does not let me hear the guitar signal post my plug in. I should be hearing a distorted guitar sound, but I am only hear the clean sound. I can see the guitar signal drive the volume meters I=on my plug in, and on the Jam Kazam app, but I don;t hear the distorted signal.

Advice would be very much appreciated!

Thank-you

Francis

  Problems with latest Release (2.0.0.1850)
Posted by: ellis@hillinger.org - 09-17-2024, 04:56 AM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (6)

A week ago I received an automatic update to Build 2.0 - 2.0.0.1850, which I am running on a Windows 10 system.  We have had several cases where the application appears to hang, and further investigation determined that the (now unresponsive) app is utilizing 30% of the CPU.  Killing the task and restarting it clears the problem temporarily.  Is anyone else encountering this problem?

Build 2.00 - 2.0.0.1850 video not working, Mac
Posted by: patc890 - 09-10-2024, 06:55 PM - Forum: Help with Video Gear - Replies (2)

Hi, I just updated to Build 2.00 - 2.0.0.1850 as was suggested in an email from Jamkazam. Everything seemed to go ok except I can't get the video to work. It was working fine before.

When I start a session I don't get the "Video System" choice up top. When I look in my account and look at Video gear it says it can't detect a web cams?

The camera is connected and works fine in things like Zoom & FaceTime. In my system preferences it says Jamkazam has access to my camera?

On Jamkazam's website it says that if I'm having trouble with the new version I should download an older version(and gives a link). I did this and when I try to run it it won't let me until I download the latest version.

Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be?

  Subscription issue with Gold Plan
Posted by: jeffdanielski - 08-26-2024, 09:30 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (1)

Hello - I subscribed to the Gold Plan last week but on the My Account page it says that I'm still on the Free Level. When I try to re-subscribe, I get a box that says "You already have this subscription. No changes were made to your account." When I click the link for Help Desk, I get a message saying that I must be on a paid plan to use support. I sent an email to support and got back the message that they won't respond to my email if I'm not on a plan... Does anyone have a suggestion for next steps? Thanks!

I was using Jamkazam briefly during the early Covid years. Now I'm back because the new band has a guitar player that lives an hour away. I was surfing for ideas on how to improve the audio. Everyone, except the remote guy were complaining. I found Rick F's post. His band was in exactly the same situation in January 2024. Here's the solution they came up with.

"The board operator copied the main mix settings with me included into the individual headphone/monitor sub output settings.
Then muted my input from the main mix of the boards main output which is the input chosen in JamKazam to send to me.
Since I'm no longer in the the main mix sent to me through Jamkazam I no longer hear myself coming back in the mix. Delay/echo gone!"

We're going to try hooking up the same way tonight.

Only detail you didn't mention in the procedure was pulling the fader all the way down in the Personal Mix so only the remote guitar and vocal come through. In fairness you don't do it on your end. The guys at the studio end do that.

New User can only hear vocals, not guitars
Posted by: jeffdanielski - 07-08-2024, 02:29 AM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (8)

Hello. I apologize if someone has already asked this, but I searched the forum and couldn't find it, so here goes.

I'm using a 2i2 and a Mac Mini. In Input 1 I have a dynamic mic; in Input 2 my bass (no patches).

My buddy is using an identical 2i2 and a MacBook. In Input 1 he has a dynamic mic; in Input 2 his guitar (no patches).

We can join a session together and hear each other through our mics and see each other on video, but neither of us can hear the other's instrument. Switching off Direct Monitoring doesn't change anything. We switched the mic and guitar inputs but still no luck.

Do we need patches? Any other ideas?

Thank you!

  3.5 mm mic for chat
Posted by: john.tomlinson2026@gmail.com - 06-04-2024, 02:19 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (2)

I'd like to use the mic on my headphone cord for chat, using a splitter cable to run the mic into my interface input. Looks like I need something like this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1...aptor.html

Has anyone tried this? Does it work?

  Terrible Sound/Packet Loss
Posted by: Tforce - 05-31-2024, 03:56 PM - Forum: Help with Network Gear - Replies (1)

I'm ready to quit Jamkazam. Over the last 3 over days, the sound has become unbearable when jamming online. The number of participants makes little to no difference. Others sound like they are underwater.
Things I have tried:
- Different interface (Zoom L-12 and Scarlett 2i2)
- reset audio settings for both
- reset router multiple times

In private session by myself the sound is fine. When jamming with others -- which I've been doing with the same people for over 2 years now -- the sound is constantly bad. The latency numbers are fine, but there is constant packet loss.
