When i open up the blackmagic utility program everything works, im getting good video etc ec, audio is working also.
Now when i open up JK i get a poppu box for the video gear, when i select 1080p all i see is a blackscreen with sometimes green horizontal stripes. anyone know how to handle this?
Best regards,

Hi,
we did some Tests and recorded today our Audio. We had to record Video with our Phones to have it.
Because (both mac Catalina and April Update of jk client) the Video does not record. The record stops after some seconds. Access to te Cam is allowed in the security settings of MacOS.
Is ist a bug or a feature? Any advice on this?

Behringer Xenyth 302USB - make it work? |

Hi:
As titled, I"ve got a Behringer Xenyth 302USB:
https://www.behringer.com/Categories/Beh...ans(en|en)
It works in Windows and other apps just fine.
I'm using stock Windows drivers for it
JamKazam sees (in the dropdown) drivers for:
Microphone (USB Audio Code) - WDM
Speakers (USB Audio Code) - WDM
Those are the drivers the Behringer is using and again, they work fine outside JamKazam.
"It appears this audio device is not currently connected. Attach the device to your computer and restart the application, or select a different device."
I tried changing the sample rate to all possible.
I tried AISO 4 All: Latency problems + nasty feedback that I couldn't control.
Nothing works.

Program cra$ng |

I joined Jamkazam over a week ago and when I completed my initial set up my system failed. I then changed some audio setting for my audio interface including reducing the buffer and it passed. It didn't take long for the program to crash though and it kept cra$ng and is unusable to me as of now. I have read that there can be certain ASIO driver conflicts and I might have latency issues anyway since that was why my system failed in the first place. I have a windows 10 64 bit system with an Intel core i7-3770 processor, 16 gb memory with 15.9 usable and a 1 TB drive with 786 gb used. I did not connect over wifi I used a 25ft ethernet cable as my studio computer is a ways away from my router. My audio interface is UA Apollo with firewire but it is not in my studio, it is 15 ft from it so the firewire and usb connections are at least 15ft long.
I'm wondering could I get this to work by bringing my computer into my studio and shortening the firewire cable? This is not a great solution for me as I chose to keep my tower out of my studio to lessen the noise from the computer fan. I could upgrade to thunderbolt but is that necessary? Could the UA ASIO driver be incompatibly?
Any other ideas?
I would greatly appreciate any help with this.

Yamaha DTX 400 connectivity |

I am experiencing trouble connecting my Yamaha DTX 400 electronic drum set to JamKazam during the Audio Gear Set-Up Phase. I successfully connected the MIDI interface from this drum set to my laptop using a USB 2.0 cable. However, during the Select & Test Audio Gear step, the DTX is not showing up under the drop down menu for either Audio Input Device or Audio Output Device. The only options for these are "Built-In Microphone/Output" and "Default Input/Output," so I selected the default options. However, during the Configure Tracks step, my DTX is showing up under "Add MIDI track." When I go to add this MIDI track, it asks me to also select a MIDI Instrument (VST or AU Plug-in), which I don't have. I chose one of the Apple AU plug-ins at random. After multiple attempts to jam with friends, I could successfully hear their instruments through the headphones I have connected to my DTX MIDI, but they have been unable to hear my electronic drum sounds (just the sounds of me hitting rubber). Any guidance on this issue would be much appreciated!

LATENCY, mostly TOTAL LATENCY |

TOTAL LATENCY, about
We begin with some serious fun - for people hit by latency
LATENCY demonstration in SESSION - by distinct clapping, tapping on microphone or whatever. 60-70 bpm:
1. One person start - and keep on, steady.
After some seconds all other try to follow excactly. One by one, maybe. Whatever.
2. One person start ...
Only one other person follow ...
-
JamKazam terms:
20 milliseconds and below is called GOOD and the dot is GREEN
Between 20 and 35 is called FAIR and the dot is YELLOW
Between 35 and 50 is called POOR and the dot is RED
50 and over is called UNACCEPTABLE and the dot is RED
-
10 milliseconds TOTAL LATENCY between (two) people is like playing 3,5 meters apart from each other. Very few people can hear/notice such low latency as 10 ms.
20 milliseconds is like 7 meter apart. All average human beings can hear/notice 20 milliseconds delay - under best condition.
50 milliseconds is like 17,5 meter apart.
100 milliseconds is like 35 meter apart.
-
Playing together in "real" real time is impossible
There will always be some latency, delay - from audio interface and from the internet connection.
Audio interface latency can be as low as 2 milliseconds - depending on quality and so.
Internet latency can be as low as 3 milliseconds, depending on quality - and distance between people, quantity, so to speak.
--- VERY important is the so called PING - the "answer time" from PC to internet provider and back,
I have 13 ms PING, for example. It can be so low as 2 ms.
Example: 2 x audio interface = 4 milliseconds.
1 x internet connection = 3 milliseconds
TOTAL LATENCY = 7 milliseconds
-
The best connection I have is from one of my computers to another of my computers on the same router/LAN. Two accounts is needed for that, of course. The TOTAL LATENCY is around 10 milliseconds.
My second best connection is with a person 100 kilometers away. The TOTAL LATENCY is 18 milliseconds.
To people in Australia (I am in Denmark) the TOTAL LATENCY is 200-300 milliseconds - that is only for very, very, very slowly and loose singing.
To USAs eastcoast it is usually 75-80.
To Californien 110-130
Thailand around 150.
My relatively best connection is with one 2.000 kilometer away in Norway. The TOTAL LATENCY is about 27 milliseconds.
Latency in my audio interface is by the way 4.2 milliseconds.
-
Having the same internetprovider gives usually lower internet latency.
Maybe 5 milliseconds in most cases.
Maybe 20 in some cases.
What is the usual internet latency between for example?
1. Portland, New Hampsh i re and New York
2. Kansas City and Denver
3. Seattle and Chicago
4. San Antonio and Panama City
4. Dallas and Los Angeles
6. Jacksonville and Miami
7. New York to Kansas = 32 ms - as one example. audio gear included
Other examples is very welcome
- from all over the world
Not audio interface latency included, please
- only internet latency

No Input Signal to Jamkazam application |

Unable to get any audio signal to show on channel 1 or 2 on the JamKazam (JK) app...
Using a MacBook Pro (Mojave 10.14.6)...
Connected a M-Audio (m-track), the JK inputs/outputs show as a M-Audio, latency reads 10.2ms (yellow), can hear output audio (jamtracks) no problem....but no visual reading on the JK app seeing any audio on ch 1 or 2 (I can see input audio to the M-Audio, but it is not being sent to the JK app).
Also tried connecting Presonus Studiolive 24.4.2 (via firewire), the JK input/output configuration shows the Presonus Firestudio, latency reads 9.8ms (green), same as M-Audio... cannot see the audio input from the Studiolive.
Appreciate any advise...THX Jim.
