Is there a way to increase the text size on the interface. Mine is way too small to read.

I am first of all just a common user of JamKazam the app

I have so to say nothing to do with JamKazam the company

I am not a official for JamKazam, not employed, nothing ...

As super moderator on Jamkazam Forum I am a total volunteer.

I have never expressed any interest for that task.

JamKazam asked me if I would be moderator

Before I could answer, Jamkazam Forum appointed me as super moderator - giving my account some special abilities.

That will say without my knowledge.

But not against my will

That is the situation

Scarlett Solo buffer set to 64 is changed to *120* by JK
Posted by: TProch - 04-11-2020, 02:36 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (4)

Using a Focusrite Scarlett Solo and Focusrite usb driver. Working great with JK. The gear latency and jitter is very low. BUT I am trying to reduce the interface buffer size to 64. I have read that it can help reduce internet latency, which is still too high?? Focusrite Control app lets me do this and it sticks, but JK switches it to *120* when I load the audio profile into JK. Anyone else seeing this? Anyone know the fix, or if this is in fact normal/ok?

Sample rate: 48000
Bitrate: 320kb/s
Audio frame size: 2.5ms
Network packet rate: 400pkt/s
Buffer size:*120*

Video Audio not getting through
Posted by: Pete Savigny - 04-11-2020, 10:54 AM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (1)

I have been able to use JamKazam with others. Now I'm testing with my flutist. She is on a Mac, I'm on PC with UMC202HD.
Both of us have the signal showing individually in JamKazam, but our audio is not getting through.

Her latency is fair (11ms), mine is very low (4ms).
At the moment, she cannot yet connect via network cable, as her adapter has not yet arrived.
But I want to test with her using WiFi just for now. I have seen it working with others.

Unfortunately, all the help links don't work.
Can you help us solving this problem?

We went through the audio gear setup, and everything seemed fine, there was success at the end.

So what can we do?

Please, add a search filter by latency and by country

I joined a couple of sessions after midnight and I keep finding musicians who live in Europe or in Australia and trying to search locally from where I live here in California to find someone to play with at a sufficent distance for a low latency jam session.
It would be a great new feature to add.

"ra": "NOT <== RECEIVING AUDIO FROM PEER",
Posted by: B.B. - 04-11-2020, 08:19 AM - Forum: Help with Network Gear - Replies (2)

The connectivity to a friend who i regularly jam with seems to vary from day to day. Usually a few restarts help, but yesterday it was not possible to get audio from him at all. He could hear me well, i got no audio signal from him. Countless restarts of the JK client, restart of computers and modems didn't help.

In one of the error protocols i found this:

"ra": "NOT <== RECEIVING AUDIO FROM PEER",

      "rt": "RAND_PORT info:\n 0=57629\n 1=0\n 2=0\n 3=0"

Could this be a clue of what went wrong?

Unfortunately i' have no clue about programming but would be interested to know what the second line means ...

Thanks

Issues with buffer size on UMC204HD (pops and clicks)
Posted by: Seth - 04-11-2020, 12:01 AM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (3)

I purchased 3 UMC204HD's for my Wor$p team so we can do remote sessions with Jamkazam.  The issue I am having with my setup is I am getting pops and clicks all the time locally on the device when I listen to the mix from Jamkazam.  This is in a test session with no one else present.  I have the latest ASIO drivers installed and my connection is green.  I have tried my brand new macbook as well as a brand new core i5 Windows laptop.  The macbook has 11ms latency no matter what I do (guess its a macbook thing).  The Windows machine has occasional jitter but that doesn't coincide with the pops and clicks.  My CPU is flat at about 12%
I am sending a submix to the UMC from my Allen & Heath mixer where I have keyboard, bass, and vocals.  I have monitored the input to the UMC and am 100% sure the audio is clean with no pops clicks etc.  Also I use this same setup to live stream on Sunday's with my mac using Ecamm live.  I monitor the output on the UMC and it sounds absolutely perfect.  So the issue has to be with Jamkazam and my hardware somewhere.

To troubleshoot with JK and the UMC, I started with 96khz and the pops were real bad.  Backed it down to 44.1 and now it is better but they are still there.
I'm pretty convinced it is a buffer issue so I tried going into the ASIO settings for the UMC driver and changing the buffer so something a little greater than 8 samples.  Every time I change the value it changes back to 8 as soon as Jamkazam takes over.  When I was messing around with deleting the audio gear and re-adding it, I caused a spike in IO and JK gave me the option of adjusting my buffer size.  I chose the middle setting and now it is set to 256.  I have been listening to audio routed to JK coming back through the UMC while I have been typing this post and it is perfect.  Problem is my latency and frame size went to crap.  Latency went from 3-4ms to 19ms.  Frame size is red at 5ms.

My question, is it possible to set the buffer size somewhere to a value higher than 8 but lower than 256?  I have to think that I could get a happy medium by slightly increasing this value to 16, 32 etc.   If you have instructions for both mac and PC that would be great.  I would rather be using my macbook but its baseline latency is horrible I guess there is no way to make that better?  I'll settle for anything that works at this point.

  2 Cameras per musician?
Posted by: yakuba42 - 04-10-2020, 09:23 PM - Forum: Help with Video Gear - Replies (1)

In this great demo, I see a couple of cameras per musician, for example these timecodes:  one violinist has an over the shoulder hand held and the cellist has a handheld close up.

Whole demo: JamBlaster Video (4 four screen demo)

Any tuts on this?

Would love to do this live, and record the whole show down to 1 video/stereo as shown in the link above.

Enormous potential.

thanks!

Can I record in my DAW while in a session?

Is there a way to route a session to my DAW to record, considering I'm using the same musical interface?

Trying to get RSVPs together... tips?
Posted by: fivebeforechaos@gmail.com - 04-10-2020, 08:47 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (2)

Hi, everyone, I'm new to Jamkazam.

I put together a private session with RSVP's, and a few people responded, but I'm not having any luck getting responses to coordinate. What do you all do in that case? Just send out a date, and hope they show up? When I put a date in there, does it tell everyone who's RSVP'd?
Thanks.
