Probably an old problem, but I'm new to Jamkazam, so apologies in advance if so. I cannot get a reverb plugin to work on my vocal track. I'm using a Macbook Pro and have downloaded several different plugins. They appear in the list of plugins (along with two Apple reverb plugins), but none add any reverb to the track. I've gone into settings and tried to make adjustments but this doesn't help. Thanks!
While trying to take part in a session I had my Focusrite 4i4 Gen3 configured as I have in past sessions (which worked fine) but this time I was having major
slapback on my input sounds ( mic, etc.) and I tried reconfiguring input hardware setups and changed settings in Focusrite Control app as well as
re-doing the audio track settings in JamKazam. I continued to have varying degrees of the same problem.
In this session setting the following factors were present:
Focusrite input to iMac, the other participants in session were in Texas and Colorado and I am in California.
We have had sessions before with latency problems but never had I experienced the slapback/loopback/feedback problem.
I have only experienced this while in JamKazam; does not occur otherwise (while using Abelton, etc.)
If anyone has a solution I would greatly appreciate any suggestions!
I can do a solo session. 7.3ms delay. All good. Using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd Gen.
My friend can do a solo session. 7.4ms delay. All good. We are “Friends”. He is using a USB mic.
When we try to join a session together, all we see is the other greyed out with “No audio?”.
And we get the “Network Send Error.” Over and over.
And we both tried to join an open session and get the same results for the other “Live Tracks” — greyed out. This points to it being our setup.
And i now after turning back on "Show Network Alerts" on Manage->Network menu, i get the "Check your network! Your network changed packet port numbers. This may block...".
Long story:
Both macOS Mojave 10.14.6.
Both Jamkazam version Build 1.80 - “1.0.3702”
Both have a Network “Location” that is set to use a static IP, with WiFi removed from the location.
Both have setup port forwarding of external UDP ports 12000-12010 to same range internal sending to our respective static IPs.
Both have IPv6 turned off in Jamkazam.
Both have JK’s Preferences set ON to always use the same set of UDP ports, and the start is set to 12000.
Both have Audio Booster set as follows: Auto Throttle Bitrate unchecked, Media Stream unchecked, Chat channel unchecked, Maximum Outgoing Music Bitrate set to 128Kbit/s, Audio FrameSize set to 1ms Experimental, Auto Throttle Network Packet Rate unchecked, Max Network Packet Rate 100Pkt/s. This got me down to 7.3ms delay from 10.3ms.
Then I realized i had macOS Firewall turned on and so went and set Security & Privacy->Firewall is OFF. Still no changes, except when i went to Search for Open Sessions, when i hovered over one of the people in an open session, it showed my delay as 10ms to that one person — rest all say unknown. Still no love trying to join an open session.
I have a Verizon FiOS business internet 90Mbps/90Mbps. I didn’t have my friend test his network speed. Friend has Comcast 131Mbps down/6.5Mbps up. Should be no issues with those speeds.
I have Apple Airport Extreme router with a static IP from Verizon as i run some services. If i go to whatismyip.com i see the same IP as what i have set my router’s to. This is in regard to some post about having a private IP versus a public IP as some crazy internet providers put you behind some NAT. Friend has DHCP IP for his router but same as what shows up at whatismyip.com.
In tweaking settings over and over, i would quit and restart Jamkazam many times. At one point, Jamkazam app crashed. I have filed a bug report.
Oh yeah, in one test with my friend, we heard each other for like 1 second... then it stopped. Retried that setting a few times. No luck.
What am i missing? Or what have i done wrong? Or what should i try?
Any clues would be most appreciated. I've attached some screen shots in cast that helps.
New Macbook pro. Started using a Behringer Xenyx 1204x USB as my interface. I'm a keyboard player so I wanted the option of running two boards in stereo, plus a vocal mic. Could not get it to work. Had a friend, who is using a PC, and is computer savvy, as far as PC's, and is successful playing on JamKazam, was able to remotely access my computer and couldn't get me up and running. I then bought a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, to simplify my set up. JamKazam sees the Scarlett but I'm still not able to be heard by others, and my knowledgeable friend is still not able to get me up and running.
Both the Scarlett and the Behringer 1204x are recognized by garage band, and I am able to play, monitor, record, and playback, through Garage Band. Everything seems to be working fine except for JamKazam. Please help asap. I desperately need to play with some other musicians.
I ran a session with a friend who I have jammed with before. No changes to our setups since last week. I use win 10 version (1.0.3794), he is on Mac. ... and we both loaded the upgrade last week.
This evening, we were able to both hear each other with no problem - very clear. But the remote user could not hear the recorded audio that I played. I was able to hear it fine. We both rebooted several times - no difference. We tried uploading the track that we played last week - again he heard nothing (I could hear it).
He reported that he could see the buffer meter fla$ng for ‘recorded Audio’ - but could not hear it .... if he opened the ‘audio console’, there was no audio coming through.
I have to say - it was not a good jam session.... I can’t see what else we could have tried... anyone else seen this? Any suggestions?
Hello. I am working with a teacher whose problem is that when he opens the app, the font is distorted in size and cannot be read. He is using WIndows 10.I have had him chnge the resolution on his computer and re-install the software, but he still has the problem. Does anyone know any next steps? Thanks.
the update of 28 June crashed. after new start worsened performance; jitter level between 0 and 6. so sound like old lp record sometimes. hopefully new update to repair this foreseen?
I'm trying to set up a new MIDI keyboard with Garritan Personal Orchestra 5 VST plugins via their (I assume, 32-bit) proprietary ARIA Player in Jamkazam but I can't find information about this kind of setup anywhere online. Can anyone help?
I'm running Windows 10 on a 64-bit ASUS PC and have a Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD audio interface. The keyboard is both USB- and MIDI output-capable.
