Unable to connect with my new macbook pro
Posted by: Rstuart11 - 07-06-2020, 08:24 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (1)

New Macbook pro. Started using a Behringer Xenyx 1204x USB as my interface. I'm a keyboard player so I wanted the option of running two boards in stereo, plus a vocal mic. Could not get it to work. Had a friend, who is using a PC, and is computer savvy, as far as PC's, and is successful playing on JamKazam, was able to remotely access my computer and couldn't get me up and running. I then bought a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, to simplify my set up. JamKazam sees the Scarlett but I'm still not able to be heard by others, and my knowledgeable friend is still not able to get me up and running.

Both the Scarlett and the Behringer 1204x are recognized by garage band, and I am able to play, monitor, record, and playback, through Garage Band. Everything seems to be working fine except for JamKazam. Please help asap. I desperately need to play with some other musicians.

Thanks,

Richard Stuart

Remote user unable to hear recorded audio
Posted by: Chris Frost - 07-06-2020, 07:51 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (3)

Strange issue this evening.

I ran a session with a friend who I have jammed with before.  No changes to our setups since last week.  I use win 10 version (1.0.3794), he is on Mac. ... and we both loaded the upgrade last week.

This evening, we were able to both hear each other with no problem - very clear.  But the remote user could not hear the recorded audio that I played.  I was able to hear it fine.  We both rebooted several times - no difference.  We tried uploading the track that we played last week - again he heard nothing (I could hear it).

He reported that he could see the buffer meter fla$ng for ‘recorded Audio’ - but could not hear it .... if he opened the ‘audio console’, there was no audio coming through.

I have to say - it was not a good jam session....  I can’t see what else we could have tried... anyone else seen this? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Setup Jamkazam with midi controller and Garritan ARIA Player
Posted by: Christopher Denny - 07-06-2020, 02:40 AM - Forum: Help with Audio Effects Plugins - No Replies

Hi,

I'm trying to set up a new MIDI keyboard with Garritan Personal Orchestra 5 VST plugins via their (I assume, 32-bit) proprietary ARIA Player in Jamkazam but I can't find information about this kind of setup anywhere online. Can anyone help?

I'm running Windows 10 on a 64-bit ASUS PC and have a Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD audio interface. The keyboard is both USB- and MIDI output-capable.

Thanks very much!

Thumbs Up Live stream to Icecast Server

Created account on internet-radio.com to test out live broadcast to icecast server. internet-radio.com starts with a 7 day trial with limited access for listeners, but let's you get it working.  Only two issues I had was that on internet-radio you need to have at least one song in your media library and assigned to a playlist to get the server to start. Secondly, the Jam Kazam dialogue box under Manage-Beta features - icecast was easy to fill out based on the info internet-radio gives you...except, leave the username for streaming blank....just use the streamcast password that you set up in internet-radio UI.

Played with it a bit yesterday with one other member in the session, and plan on doing more testing with larger sessions today.

  Does messaging work?
Posted by: Richard Head - 07-04-2020, 03:57 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (2)

I have tried messaging a couple of Jamkazam members that indicate in their profile they are interested in a virtual band.  I have received no response ...so either they did not get the message via email, it hit their spam folder, they do not respond to messages like this ....or messaging doesn't work.  Has anyone had success with messaging via Jamkazam?

Problems getting both DAW and live instruments set up
Posted by: SHAcoustic67 - 07-03-2020, 01:26 AM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (3)

I am a keyboardist trying to connect with my vocalist for rehearsals and songwriting via JamKazam.

My setup is:

Macbook Pro with High Sierra OS
Cubase Elements 10.5
Presonus Audiobox iTwo usb preamp
QSC Touchmix 16 mixer with various keyboards and wireless mic input

Her setup is:

Macbook Pro (not sure the OS)
Soundcraft 12MTK mixer with integrated USB-pre
Various mics input

I am trying to get both tracks on my DAW and my live keyboards and mic to transmit through JamKazam and, after reading an article about using a DAW with JamKazam, I set up my DAW I/O using USB-Pre as input and Blackhole as output, according to this article, and then set up the input on JamKazam to be Blackhole. The problem is that when I switched to that setup, she could then hear the DAW tracks just fine, but then I lost her ability to hear my live instruments. When I switched to my other JamKazan Input setup using my Usb-Pre as the input, it was the opposite - Live inputs yes, DAW no. So how do I get both? I did do the Aggregate input creation on the MBP's Audio-MIDI setup for both My USB Pre and Blackhole, but couldn't seem to select that Aggregate in JamKazam to get both feeding into it.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve
