  Eratic Volume behavior during a session

We are a 5 piece band (5 locations less than 50 miles apart) and have successfully overcome the latency issue after several months of painful troubleshooting.  Yes you need to get all the audio configurations setup correctly and some if the JKZ fixes have allowed that but its not enough.   Members need high performance laptops with 1 GB Ethernet cards.  For us, as a 5 piece, to have a good experience total latency needs to be below 17 ms.  One member with a poor connection (less than 100MBS) will drag down everyone and your only as good as the worst connected member.  The secret is get all band members to upgrade to 200MBS (Upload and Download) internet using Verizon.    If you get new service this is the lowest offered by Verizon ($39.95/month) and you really get 300+ MB Up and down.  Don't use Comcast as they only offer Asymmetric service 350 MB download but only 25MBS upload useless you buy 1 GB business service.



We are amazed at the experience we are now having.   However, now we are experiencing a fluctuation in individual levels during sessions for some of the musicians. For example, in the middle of a song, the guitarist may all of a sudden have a drop in volume from the singer’s channel but then also have the sax player much louder in his headphones. The fluctuating levels do not seem to happen uniformly for everyone in the session in that the mix may not change at all for another musician, or a different set of fluctuations may be occurring for someone else (i.e. keyboards get too loud)..   There is no pattern so far that we can detect.  We see there are some new features that may help but they are not documented.



1) Under audio configuration:  Session Sticky VU – Sounds like maybe this makes the volume stay the same in a given session ?

2) Under audio configuration:Prefer Personal Mix – It seems this should be checked but we don't know what it does?

3) Under Audio Console/Compression checkbox - Bypass compressor, we are wondering if this could help our issue ?



:(   Has anyone experienced random volume fluctuation issues and/or do you know what these configuration and control settings above do?

  App Won't Install

I have tried installing the app several times on Windows 10 Pro and it will not install.  The installation windows comes up and says it is preparing to install, but it never does. Any suggestions?

  high interface latency with Scarlett 2i2 on Mac mini

Is anybody able to get acceptable latency using a Mac Mini (2020) and a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2?

Hardware:  new 6 core i7 with 16BG memory and MacOS 10.15.6
Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 third generation
Jamkazam latest release, latency patch installed, frame rate at 1

Best I can get is 17.9ms for audio interface latency with focusrite.  I can get down to 7.9ms with 4 year old Presonus Audiobox i2. Still not quite usable, but better

Bonus question - any idea  why the performance of the Scarlett and the Audiobox would have been almost exactly the opposite on the MacBook pro (2015) I was running before? Core audio performance on the Jamkazam interface is green.

Focusrite support has responded but has nothing to offer so far.

My webcam had been working OK, but today when I start a session I see nothing but solid black on the video screen.  I resynced, ran the video test, and there the webcam functions properly.  Closed JK, reopened, but same issue.  Evidently I've mistakenly changed some setting, but I'm unable to pin anything down.  Any suggestions?

Hi, just looking for a little help.
JamKazam approved my audio setup, everything seems to be working.  I want to record myself with a backing track.  I can record myself alone (not within a session) and it plays back ok.  However, the tutorials show a Make A Recording button when one initiates a session.  My screen is blank where there is supposed to be the Make a Recording button.  Can anyone tell me why that might be?

Hi. I'm a fairly new jamkazam user. I have a focusrite i2i interface. My husband and I play banjo and guitar into two mics connected to the focusrite. We're trying to figure out what headphones to get. I think we need to have similar phones so we can get the right balance of sound over the phones and live sound in the room. I like to hear a lot of live sound as you do with earbuds, but I don't have any decent ones. We tried some AKG K245 "open back" headphones. They're okay, but I think I'd prefer something more open.
So I'm looking for recommendations. What are other acoustic players using?

Brand new at using jk, in general it is working great.
When connected, others hear my mic in one speaker and my instrument in the other speaker.

I’m using scarlett 2i2 with mic in one input and mandolin in other input
I hear myself in both side of my head phones. 
Any suggestions to fix this.

So I'm working on getting my interface (Behringer UMC1820) and JamKazam working together and I keep getting an error saying that the input and output sample rates don't match. One is 44100 and the other is 48000. I can't figure out how to change them in either the JamKazam settings or in the UMC control panel. 

Any idea what I'm not doing correctly?

Hi, I've just gone back into JK after a while and seen the 'auto device configuration' in the settings menu.

When I click this it comes up with three Behringer models (I am using a UMC202HD) but whichever one I click on it says something like 'device not found, please plug it in'.

This seems weird as the fact that it pops up with the Behringer choices suggests that it can see my device but it doesn't want to do anything with it.

Am I missing something here?
