webcam tests OK, but black screen in session |

My webcam had been working OK, but today when I start a session I see nothing but solid black on the video screen. I resynced, ran the video test, and there the webcam functions properly. Closed JK, reopened, but same issue. Evidently I've mistakenly changed some setting, but I'm unable to pin anything down. Any suggestions?

Hi, just looking for a little help.
JamKazam approved my audio setup, everything seems to be working. I want to record myself with a backing track. I can record myself alone (not within a session) and it plays back ok. However, the tutorials show a Make A Recording button when one initiates a session. My screen is blank where there is supposed to be the Make a Recording button. Can anyone tell me why that might be?
Thanks so much!

headphone recommendation? |

Hi. I'm a fairly new jamkazam user. I have a focusrite i2i interface. My husband and I play banjo and guitar into two mics connected to the focusrite. We're trying to figure out what headphones to get. I think we need to have similar phones so we can get the right balance of sound over the phones and live sound in the room. I like to hear a lot of live sound as you do with earbuds, but I don't have any decent ones. We tried some AKG K245 "open back" headphones. They're okay, but I think I'd prefer something more open.
So I'm looking for recommendations. What are other acoustic players using?
Thanks!
Maxine

I/O Samplerates don't match, can't figure out how to change. |

So I'm working on getting my interface (Behringer UMC1820) and JamKazam working together and I keep getting an error saying that the input and output sample rates don't match. One is 44100 and the other is 48000. I can't figure out how to change them in either the JamKazam settings or in the UMC control panel.
Any idea what I'm not doing correctly?
Thanks!

Auto device configuration |

Hi, I've just gone back into JK after a while and seen the 'auto device configuration' in the settings menu.
When I click this it comes up with three Behringer models (I am using a UMC202HD) but whichever one I click on it says something like 'device not found, please plug it in'.
This seems weird as the fact that it pops up with the Behringer choices suggests that it can see my device but it doesn't want to do anything with it.
Am I missing something here?
Thx

Using GarageBand > JK reduced my latency |

My songwriting partner & I have been banging our heads against JK since the start of the pandemic, and only in the past few weeks gotten it to work at all (he lives out in the desert and he had issues with the way his ISP had him set up; he needed to get a new router).
We're still having latency/jitter issues, but have been making incremental improvements. We both got Focusrite Scarlett 2i2's, and installed their Mac driver to reduce latency.
I followed Eric McQuaid's instructions on how to have GarageBand's output feed into JK (see below - thank you!)
I was expecting an increase in my own latency, and surprisingly it's gone down.
Here's the numbers:
10.3 with 2i2
7.8 after driver installed
5.6 with GarageBand
Any ideas why?

Behringer UM2 + UMC22 working on Win10 |

I just managed to get Behringer UM2 and UMC22 audio interfaces working with Jamkazam on Windows10 on Lenovo T520 (at least in a solo session, together with jamtracks).
Those interfaces do not come with a specific ASIO driver, but simply rely on the generic Asio4All (asio4all.org). On a Windows machine, this driver has to be installed. It is said not to be compatible with any proprietary Asio drivers.
The key to me is this post regarding Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd interfaces: https://forum.jamkazam.com/showthread.php?tid=1294
It advises to set the Audio Frame Size to a low value in JK via Manage -> AudioSettings -> Audio Booster).
In the case of my Behringers, 2 ms worked best for me (when hovering on the JK session status, JK displays 1 ms, don't understand why).
Another very sensitive parameter is Hardware Buffer (Manage -> AudioSettings -> Open Asio Panel): Activate, and set the Buffer Offset to as low a value as possible (if too low, you get jitter/noise). For me 5 ms.
ASIO BufferSize 88 Samples.
Checkboxes for resampling and WDM Driver set off.
Don't forget to resync everytime you change an adjustment.
As a result, I got latencies from 10 to 13 ms (depending on who knows what).
A problem still left is crackling when playing (electric guitar, in my case). From what I've read that probably is a problem of the asio4all driver, which is said to be sensitive to low computing capacities, concurrent processes, whatever. Maybe I should try it on a newer/faster machine with less other processes running.
I hope that helps :-)

What internet speed up/down do I really need? |

Hello everyone, just found out about JamKazam this week and our band wants to start using it.
What internet speed is really needed? I know the specs say 1 Mbps upload but I see posts from other users online and opinions of course vary.
There are 4 of us in the band, two of us have Fiber connections although I'm not sure what speed they actually have.
I have a 2Mbps upload/25Mbps download, the other guy has 1Mbps upload/10Mbps download. I'm thinking the two of us need to upgrade our speed but would like to hear from others what is really needed to make best use of JamKazam.
Thanks!

Interface suggestions needed |

Hello everyone, just found out about JamKazam this week and our band wants to start using it.
I'm looking for some suggestions on interfaces to use.
I play guitar in the band, don't sing. I already own this unit,
https://www.behringer.com/product.html?modelCode=P0B2J
I know it is overkill but I already own it. I do like to play in stereo so I will make use of at least 2 of the channels. Any known problems with this unit?
There are 3 other members in the band and they are all going to need interfaces, drummer, bass player who sings, other guitarist who sings.
I'm assuming a 2 channel interface would be a good choice for them, 2 channels for the drummer so he can be in stereo, 2 channels for the other two guys, one for their guitar the other for vocals.
I have a 16 channel mixer the drummer can use to mic his drums and mix that into the interface.
Any suggestions on my thought process here? Any suggestions on what interface the other 3 guys should get? The less expensive the better but I don't want to buy something so cheap it isn't going to work well.
Thanks!
Forgot to mention the bass player/backup singer uses an iMac, the rest of us use Windows.
