  Static when I play guitar
Posted by: left0525@gmail.com - 11-29-2020, 08:58 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (1)

Hey folks. I'm  pretty new to JK. I have a Dell laptop running Windows 10 with a new Presonus Audiobox USB 2X2 audio interface. I have a good internet connection. I have my guitar going through my Boss Katana Air into the Presonus. Whenever I hit a sting or play a chord it get a little static noise happening. Any ideas why? Thanks - Mike

Allow in-my-home persons to listen in

JK has been working great. Four friends play together weekly. It would be great if our in-home spouses/partners could listen in while we play. If there is on obvious way to do this, I've missed it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  huge noise when playing/sessioning

Hello,
has anybody experience how I can avoid contact noise? It appears when I play on my own (starts as soon as I play guitar or sing) as well when I'm in a session with other players. I use a Tascam US 2x2 Audio interface and connect my LapTop via LAN cable to the Router.
Thanks for feedbacks
Guido

  Audio Initialization failure
Posted by: Nancy Yu - 11-26-2020, 05:12 AM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - No Replies

JK recognizes my gear for about 15 seconds then shuts down. Resync=another 15 seconds then shut down. Been jamming for 10 mos. never had this problem.

Anyone available for help?

Focusrite Solo (3rd gen) 60's "stereo" operation
Posted by: TWDay72 - 11-25-2020, 06:13 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (5)

I really am "asking for a friend." ;-)

He has a Focusrite Solo 3rd gen unit that I've been trying to help him setup. His internet speed is pretty mediocre and we're working on that. However, the current weird problem is that in the system setup he can only select one input (CH1) and only one input is displayed in "audio inputs." The Solo has a mic input and an instrument input and you'd hope they'd both be controllable. Plus, his output is guitar on right and voice on the left. Any suggestions?

  Inconsistent static
Posted by: mcdon056@umn.edu - 11-24-2020, 05:25 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - Replies (3)

I returned to Jamkazam for the winter weather after rehearsing and performing outside until now. I noticed a lot of inconsistent static today in a duo session. It would appear, I would leave the session and return without static for a while, then it would return and I would repeat. Most of my diagnostics were green, but jitter alternated between green and yellow. Let me know what you think.

My buddy and I both have Mac desktops, hardwired and use Artesia a22xt. Today
I was able to hear my microphone and his microphone and he could hear himself, but could not hear me.
Any ideas?

Posted by: timeflesh - 11-23-2020, 07:32 PM - Forum: Miscellaneous - Replies (2)

Dear Support Team,

I have a urgent question regarding the app. As I started the download (the .msi file) my virus tools as well as windows 10 itselfs gaves me alerts. It recommands to avoid the installation. So I have a little bit bad feelings to start the installation. It would be nice if you can give me some answers regarding the security topic.

Thank you in advance.

Bass and Voice on Behringer 202HD
Posted by: Cobbyco - 11-23-2020, 04:48 PM - Forum: Help with Live Jamming Sessions - Replies (1)

Hi, apologies in advance if this is a bit of a Noddy question!

I'm using a Behringer UMC202HD with my bass plugged into Input 1 and a condenser mic into Input 2.

When I set this up I can only see separate channels for the audio as Left and Right so have assigned the bass input to Left and the Mic to Right.

In my dashboard I see two entries for myself but my friend I'm jamming with only sees one that carries both the bass and the mic.  The levels are very different so he has to keep adjusting up or down depending on whether I'm playing or talking.  It's not to much of an issue as I don't sing but wondered if we're missing something fundamental in the set up here?

Thx

? How does one turn off Steinberg UR-RT4 Direct Monitoring?
Posted by: David Stojakovich - 11-23-2020, 04:43 PM - Forum: Help with Audio Gear - No Replies

            Hello Forum Members!

Do any of you use a Steinberg UR-RT4 interface with JamKazam?  If so, how do you make sure that Direct Monitoring is turned off?

While in session I have the following problem...the audio becomes static (buzzy) then my signal is seemingly to me pushed in front of or behind (either way out of time) against the person I am Jamming with.  While persisting and playing through this (which is not pleasurable) at times the problem goes away by the end of the song.  At other times it persists until a second after we stop playing, then it clears up.

I don't know if direct monitoring is causing this or not but want to eliminate direct monitoring as a possible root cause.

For others not familiar with this interface, it does not have a physical switch for direct monitoring on/off.  The instruction manual does not mention the words direct monitoring with the exception of using it with Cubase.  In Cubase>Studio Setup there is a soft switch to turn direct monitoring on or off.

What controls the interface with other DAWs (and JamKazam) is a software mixer interface called: dspMixFx UR-RT (Screen Shots of current set-up above) and this software does not have a soft switch for direct monitor control.

In JamKazam Audio Devices I run the Yamaha Steinberg USB ASIO Driver sample rate at 96KHz, and the minimum buffer size available at 64 samples in low latency mode.

Moreover...I run a new HP tower, Windows 10 20H2 (home) with 32GB RAM + 32GB Optane memory, Gen9 i7 9700. And connect over Ethernet.

In session with the UR-RT4 I run an XLR mic on Ch1. and run a Boss ME-80 into Ch.3 & Ch.4 (Line in).

I appreciate your feeedback.

Thanks,
David
