Most recent Dec 8th JK build - Abnormally HIgh CPU
#1
Good Afternoon.

A few of our band members just updated to the most recent Dec 8th build of JK.
The client app running idle or in solo/private session is using way to much CPU.
33% to 40% now, last build was 5 to 7%.

I'm running on an Intel® Core™ i5-7260U CPU @ 2.20GHz  2.21 GHz 16M
Presonus 24C. JK and UC only, no other services.
Fully capable.

My collogues running i7 Gen8's, all having the same high CPU usage issues.

Please advise.

Thanks

Yes, several of us noticed the same in last night's session. Made some users PCs run up to 100% CPU utilization. My I5-9400 is running JK at 20-30%, vs 7-12% before.

That's good to know we're not alone. Did it also affect the performance (latency) during your session?

No - it didn't seem so.

Confirming I also saw very high CPU usage on Tuesday eve. 50-75% with gusts to 95-100%. This was with a group of five. I've never seen CPU usage anywhere this high previously, Admittedly I have an older Celeron G3220 with only 4GB RAM.

But JK administrators need to update the minimum processor specs if this is the new normal.

My CPU usage is back to normal after the Fri Dec 11 evening server update.

Hi Mike. I would be interested to understand what you mean as 'server update'. Since, we as JK users have the 'client', not the server. Did you become aware from JK support about an issue with a server?

Update.. never mind.. i see what you are referring to. Looks like the Devs addressed the issue in the Dec 11th update
