MacBook Pro issues
#1
hi there,

I've had a number of colleagues who wanted to experiment with JK but they don't have external audio interfaces at the moment, and JK won't recognize the internal audio device (Macbook Pro Speakers or Headphones).   How can they work around that?

ALso a couple of my colleagues tried the JK apps for iPad and they didn't work - are they supposed to be working?

thank you!

Jam tracks on iPad are only backing tracks, not an application like on Windows or Mac.

As for your second point, did they tried on the Windows side (BootCamp) as they would maybe be able to use ASIO4all for the built-in audio.

Not sure however about latency doing this.

The best would be a cheap (even used) USB interface. Look at the thread listing working interfaces maintained by Kevin K.

OK so it's possible to use built-in audio on PCs using ASIO4ALL, but not on Macs?

thank you!

OT:
For testing puposes I've succefully used an MBP - without - external soundcard/audio interface.
So just headphones and MBP speaker. No issues! and actually very low latency, although of little use ofcourse.
Catalina 10.15.4

NB - the iPad app is something completely different and not build/suited for live jamming.
