List of Audio Interfaces
I've been using an
RME Fireface 400 (via Firewire 400 connection) (product has been discontinued) Interface latency: 4.1, Jitter (in/out): Fluctuating between 0 and .49 ms (average around .w2-.3ms), Frame size: 1. ms, Windows 7, Home Prem SP1 (FireWire via express card).

I purchased the Behringer UMC202HD recently and it worked flawlessly. I tried other interfaces and they failed. I thought I would report this to help others. I am not a fan of Behringer gear but this unit works.

Hello Karelr, where can i find the list you compiled?

I use the Behringer UMC202HD on both windows 10 and macOS.
Got this only working if after installing the Jamkazam from the official Jamkazam site, you also download the Jamkazam app.

Without the app, the Behringer will not be recognized.
But after downloading the app, the Behringer will be recognized and will work properly

I've just got a MacBook Air running Big Sur.
Has anyone got any advice about the best/most preferable audio interface to use with JamKazam?
Thanks in advance.

Hello mrpastry. I’ve got a MacBook Air running Big Sur and use a Focusrite Scarlett 3rd gen. this works very well with JK. Focusrite have a low latency system extension which hacks the buffer sizes in the Mac Core Audio (I think). I use that with a 48kHz sample rate and a 1ms frame size in JK, which gives an interface latency under 5ms. I’ve been very happy with that set-up.

I am sure there are other interfaces that also work well, so I don’t claim this is the best. But it is reasonably priced and reliable for JK use.

Thumbs Up
I have successfully jammed with six bandmates using the Yamaha MG10XU with Shure DMK57-52 Drum Microphone Kit (bass mic in cajon, mic for snare, mic for foot tambourine, and mic for chat). Connected to an iMac 2009 running Yosemite 10.10.5.

On Mac, System Preferences-->Sound: Input and Output set to MG-XU; Audio MIDI Setup-->Format set to 48000.0 Hz.

On MG10XU, Level 9/10-USB Level [12 in manual diagram p. 2] switch pressed in to allow monitoring of session through mixer; Monitor/Phones switch [21 in manual diagram p. 2] set up for Stereo.

JamKazam Audio Gear settings: Sampling Rate 48000, Frame Size 1 or 2.

Have also connected to Windows 10 laptop with the Steinberg ASIO driver downloaded from Yamaha.

If you're using another interface, or if you're using one on this list that falls in a different category (such as Mentioned..., and you have it Working...), let me know, and I'll update. I'm not sure if others can update this post or not, but feel free to message me or post a reply here, and I'll update it. I've included links to product pages where enough information has been provided in the post, and a product page still exists. I've also noted if the audio interface has been discontinued.

JamKazam admin, LMK if there's a better way to do this, or a better place to put it.

Thanks, all, for providing info on your experiences with these audio interfaces, and may your latency while jamming ever be low!  ;-)

Hi!
Besides the already confirmed Steinberg UR22C, I used an iRig Pro I/O and a Line 6 Sonic Port VX (with very good integrated microphones) in the past months without any problems on a 2019 Macbook Pro.

I have a 2019 16" MacBook Pro running Big Sur (macOS 11.2.3) and just spent a week trying both the MOTU M2 and the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (gen 3).

Despite many attempts, including suggestions from MOTU about how to bypass the Big Sur driver installation problem, I have not been able to get the M2 driver installed on Big Sur. Officially, they haven't released a Big Sur driver yet (https://motu.com/en-us/news/motu-and-macos-big-sur/). Without the driver, I can't get my M2 latency on JamKazam below 11ms, which is the same as what I get with no audio interface at all. MOTU has no planned Big Sur driver release date, though when pressed, the guy did guess "weeks rather than months". FWIW.

The 2i2, as described above in another post, doesn't have a macOS driver so it uses CoreAudio for the driver, and with the Focusrite helper file installed (https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/a.../208736249) I did see JamKazam latency around 5ms (with 96kHz sample size and 1ms frame size).

I successfully installed the M2 driver on a 2015 MacBook Air that I still have on Mojave (macOS 10.14), and without tweaking anything I saw JamKazam latency of 3ms (96KHz sample size and 2.5ms frame size) . But, that computer is very slow and caused me other JK issues. This makes me optimistic that, when they have the M2 Big Sur driver, I might get great latency on my faster mac. So, now I have to decide if I'm willing to wait indefinitely for that, or just go with the Focusrite and be done with it.

I did write to JK suggesting that their "audio interfaces for mac" page (https://jamkazam.freshdesk.com/support/s...6000122513) be updated to specify that the fastest one on the list (the M2) can't currently accomplish that speed with Big Sur macs. Had I known that beforehand I wouldn't have bought it.
