List of Audio Interfaces
Great job creating the list!..   I am using #73 Presonus Audiobox USB 96.  Set up passed w 7ms latency.  Went to "quick start solo" to finalize abilities and sounds.  Get great scores on stats until bottom for frame size:

" Frame size (red) 10ms -  gear reading/writing audio at a slow rate causing a decent amount of latency before internet involved " .

Does anyone know what this means?

Thank you

They're split into 4 categories:

  1. Audio Interfaces Confirmed Working With JamKazam
  2. Audio Interfaces Confirmed Working With JamKazam, But Not Working Well
  3. Audio Interfaces Confirmed NOT Working With JamKazam
  4. Audio Interfaces Mentioned, But Not Yet Determined If Working With JamKazam
If you're using another interface, or if you're using one on this list that falls in a different category (such as Mentioned..., and you have it Working...), let me know, and I'll update. I'm not sure if others can update this post or not, but feel free to message me or post a reply here, and I'll update it. I've included links to product pages where enough information has been provided in the post, and a product page still exists. I've also noted if the audio interface has been discontinued.

JamKazam admin, LMK if there's a better way to do this, or a better place to put it.

Thanks, all, for providing info on your experiences with these audio interfaces, and may your latency while jamming ever be low!  ;-)

Current Versions of JamKazam clients (as of 2020-05-03)

Note for Focusrite Mac users: Check this post for a Mac-only driver download to reduce interface latency. From the Focusrite site: "Please note this Focusrite Low Latency installer is not supported for use with Scarlett 1st Gen interfaces and may prevent them from functioning properly."

1) I started by trying to use my Alesis Multimix USB. This works, but the latency is high (20 ms). Alesis say that this device doesn't require a driver, as it is USB class compliant. but there is some mention of using ASIO4ALL to improve latency. I have downloaded this, but can't see how, in Windows 10, to make the two work together. Does anybody have any ideas?

2) Meanwhile, I am running Jamkazam on my other older laptop, which nevertheless appears to have a better built in sound card. (I can't find out what the device actually is - Windows jut calls it a High Definition Audio Device). I am just using the built in mics, plus headphones. This is actually working reasonably well, although sound quality isn't great. However, I remain a bit confused. My local stats (when I am in a session) show latency of 6ms (OK), acceptable jitter, but a red blob for frame size at 10 ms, and therefore saying that my overall latency is poor.
I have tried reducing the frame size (whatever that is) in the audio booster. That gets rid of the red blob, but increases jitter. I found a youtube video by a JK user, which suggested increasing the minimum processor value in W10 power settings to 100%. This does indeed solve the jitter problem. but doesn't really help. as when I reduce the frame size I get a lot of distortion.
Again, any ideas, or is it just that what I've got, with 10 ms frame size, the best I can get with this sound card?

3) Would I gain a useful improvement by buying a recommended audio interface?

Lot's of questions I'm afraid. This is not a gripe with JK, which  is working well, and is quite an impressive piece of software overall - this is the best one we have found for rehearsing on-line during lockdown, and we did our first recording the other day (just waiting for the final nix to be uploaded). However, if I can get it working better then it could be a useful tool going forward.

Hi Tom,

thanks for this great Job. If have one Interface for the list witch works not very well with JamKazam on a Win10-PC and newest driver. Its the Tascam iXR (product not continued). Everything seems to be very good after configuring the audio gear but after one or two minutes the interface produces a delay of about 0.5 sec on your earphones. After pressing the resync-buttom it works well again, but only for some minutes.

I have a friend using the M-Audio AIR 192|4 on Windows 10 as well. Audio quality is good all around, but he has the same issue with guitar on one side and vocal mic on the other. His latency is not great, but he is using the default WDM gear config with frame size 10 in JamKazam and has not experimented with other settings or ASIO.

Phil - Thanks for the info!  I’ve updated the info for the 2i2 (moved to the “Confirmed working well section”) to include the Focusrite ASIO driver and configuration utility.

Andreas - thanks for the information! I’ve added the MidiTech AudioLink Light to the list in the “Confirmed working well” section.

Josch - thanks for the information!  I’ve added the iXR to the list in the “Working, but not working well” section.

Matjoblo - thanks for the info! I’ve added the Behringer UCA222 to the list in the “Confirmed not working” section. Let us know if you’re able to get this to work. This is the first mention of this interface in the forums.

Hi Kevin, perhaps the problem Matjoblo sees w/ UCA222 is related to a recent client update? Two friends of mine had their gear quit working with JamKazam on Friday 2020-05-08, was working previously and was still working with other software. Had to uninstall/re-install device, drivers and client and recreate gear setup to recover. Just reinstalling client and recreating gear setup was not sufficient.

Hey Paul, I'm hoping you might be able to help me out.

I've installed the JamKazam software and when I come to setting up my audio device (Pro Tools HD with 192 audio interface) nothing except built in line in and built in digital in is available. The Digidesign 192 isn't appearing as an option. Any ideas on how to proceed? Many thanks, Peter
