When Playing in a Session it would much easier to adjust volume levels for Inputs and Personal Mix if
the volume control for each was a horizontal slider always on screen rather than a popup. On the Mac,
drag-over popup windows don't work at all until the JK window is clicked once first to get focus.

Agreed!  Slider controls for volume and panning on the Session screen, available at all times, would be huge, since there's a constant need to tweak these levels, even during performance.

My dream is to have MIDI continuous controllers supported in the UI. I could map MIDI hardware or a sequencer to control my inputs in real time.
