Latency and internet connection
#1
Greetings fellow JK's:

We continue to have some real latency problems with just one band member. He's on a Mac, with a Focusrite Solo. The rest of us all have Focusrites as well. Unlike the rest of us that live in single family homes, he's in an apartment building that I'm sure splits the internet signal.. Would that cause problems with latency, and is there anything he can do - besides move?

Thanks,
Geoff

So, did you narrow it down to the internet connection? (no LAN and/or eqpt issues?)

*Whatever* happens on ones internet connection can (and most probably will) affect your Jamkazam (or any other realtime music collab) experience in one way or another.
If your friend has access to the router he could try something with QOS. Or rehearse on usage 'dead hours'. Or get a dedicated internet connection.
