List of Audio Interfaces
#51
(04-05-2020, 03:27 AM)kkriner@gmail.com Wrote: Hi, all! I've gone through all the forum posts so far and compiled a list of audio interfaces for our use.

They're split into 4 categories:

  1. Audio Interfaces Confirmed Working With JamKazam
  2. Audio Interfaces Confirmed Working With JamKazam, But Not Working Well
  3. Audio Interfaces Confirmed NOT Working With JamKazam
  4. Audio Interfaces Mentioned, But Not Yet Determined If Working With JamKazam
If you're using another interface, or if you're using one on this list that falls in a different category (such as Mentioned..., and you have it Working...), let me know, and I'll update. I'm not sure if others can update this post or not, but feel free to message me or post a reply here, and I'll update it. I've included links to product pages where enough information has been provided in the post, and a product page still exists. I've also noted if the audio interface has been discontinued.

JamKazam admin, LMK if there's a better way to do this, or a better place to put it.

Thanks, all, for providing info on your experiences with these audio interfaces, and may your latency while jamming ever be low!  ;-)

Semi-success with Scarlett 8i6. Sounded great when it worked, but then would get strange delays, and weird sound artifacts, out of nowhere. Got through one song and then we couldn't take it any longer during song #2.

This is a stunning amount of work.  Thank you!

I'm using a MOTU M2 interface.  It works well but has more latency then I would expect (10.4).

Is there any way to get Jamkazam to work with my Focusrite Saffire pro40?

samnitzberg, Matt and jdecola, thanks for the information! I've updated the list with this information.

jdecola, you're welcome (and thanks to all who have provided this information), and I hope this information helps everyone get jamming quickly with as low latency as is possible!

Confirmed working: Roland Octacapture, Win10 and MacOS Sierra. Latency reported is better on the Windows side. No crackling, pristine sound.

Presonus Audiobox USB from my friend works too. Heard a session he made today and the crackling I heard three days ago looks to be gone. Latest JK in my case, not sure on its side.

Thanks for the data.

**Forgot, latest drivers obviously. Not discontinued, working drivers for Catalina but not tested myself. 8 analog inputs and two digitals plus an handy loopback feature. I'll try to use this feature to record our next session in Reaper.

Latency reported on Mac: 7.2 ms, around 5 in Windows.

Anybody out there using one of these with success?  Many affordable interfaces are currently out of stock, but found this one.

Dimitri Muskens Wrote:Behringer XR18 (Air) works really well.
One does need some insight in the internal (USB-)routing of the mixer.
If setup correctly it is '16 channels of full control' over what you're sending down Jamkazam.
On OSX, local gear latency is at 8.3ms. I/O jitter at 0.4#

Hey Dimitri. I've been trying to get the routing right on the XR18 but it's doing my head in. Any insights you could share would be brilliant. I'm a novice by the way. Cheers Darren

@drussell: not really a JK issue, but XR-18 routing: set tracks 17+18 source to USB output using XAir Edit's routing screen. This would be how you would hear playback from your computer's DAW (if you used the XR as a recording interface) and for JamKazam (same setup for both). Check YouTube videos for more help.

I forgot to indicate my experiences, sorry. Here goes:
I too can confirm Behringer X-Air series XR-18 works and works well. Used in our band rehearsal space as our PA, I can have vocals, stereo keyboard, mono guitar amp DI, and a midi track drum VSTi triggered by electronic kits all running stable simultaneously from an older Windows 10 laptop. Currently the gear is packed up, but I recall the setup reported around 8ms latency, maybe lower (I'll hook it back up and retest)
Tascam US-800: works with JamKazam. Latest drivers set to smallest buffer size yields about 8ms interface latency, not great but works
A recent gem of a find: recently discontinued but found on eBay for $59: ESI UGM96. a super-small 2x2 interface, one guitar input, one 1/4" TRS mic input (switchable to Hi-Z guitar); one 1/4" stereo headphone out, and one 1/4 TRS line out. That's it. Latest driver is stable in Win10 64-bit, and reporting 2ms latency in JK! Great portable rig
