When Trying To Test Network Connect Get Can't Detect WiFi Message (MacOs)
#1
Hi. Using JamKazam client with MacMini-MacOS (Catalina) which is connected to the router via EtherNet cable and WiFi is turned Off. When I try to do a network text in JamKazam I get a message saying the JamKazam cannot detect whether or not my connect is WiFi or not. It won't allow me to do a network test.

Is there a parameter I need to change so that JamKazam knows I'm not using WiFi and so I can use the Network Test feature?

Thanks

I don't know if the stability has improved, but the Test Network feature was not working at all really for the past month and a half. I wouldn't even bother with it, just get yourself in a session (with a few couple of other people) and look at your internet stats. See how your ping, jitter, jitter queue look. For spotty connections, I've noticed its the jitter/jitter queue that cause issues and really ramp up the latency.

thanks. this is the cause of my concern. my internet speed is 18mbps up/600mbps down. normally all people in the session are red which doesn't seem right based on internet speed and minimal mac/audio interface latency. my connection is always green. I want to make sure Im using the optimal configuration.

Speed is a very small part of the picture until you have many people in a session+video. Latency is where its at. Could be cause by poor home network setup, too much other traffic on your network or ISP (too many people on netflix, etc?), bogged down CPU, or a bazillion other things. How far geographically are the people you're trying to play with? That's a big part of it too.

Yup. home network free of massive streaming when I'm using JamKazam.  home network latency minimal.  my JamKazam stats are always green.
