Issues Focusrite 2i2
#1
Hello,

I have an issue I can't figure out: I plug my bass, microphone and headsets into the 2i2 and start to jam with my guitarist, and consistently after about a minute playing he stops hearing my bass.  As soon as I click on the Audio setup button, without changing any setting at all, he starts hearing it again. And again, after a couple of minutes, my bass disappears. I close the setup menu, bass comes back alive for a few minutes and then goes silent.  Angry Huh

I have tried everything I can think of and always get the same result.  Any ideas on what I can explore? Huh

Thank you!

is this a new problem (ie it was working OK before, then this happened...)?

2 or 3 times this year I have had to blow away my audio profile and re-configure it. The most recent time, I think I caused the problem by jiggering the software. At least once before I had to re-do it because of a client update.

It's a funny thing, because it's been happening since I started using JK with this mate, but other people I have played with do not have the same issue with me.

I don't know if it's a data transmission issue on his side, although I am at a loss to understand why there's a loss of signal and not just increased latency; or if it's an issue with my configuration of the 2i2, even if I have tried to swap channels, reconfigure, and do everything I can think of.

If it works with some players, but not others, then the issue cannot be entirely on your end of the wire.

Do you have Gen 2 or Gen 3?

My friend has Gen 2 - works great, but no control application. I think Gen 3 has control software.

read this post from another forum user, see if it applies to your case..

I have a Gen2 and indeed have no control application.  Will try again having totally reconfigured the audio configuration.  Thank you for the lead.
