Program Will Not Launch on a Windows 10 PC. Please help!
#1
I realize this question has been asked already and unfortunately, I do not see where a solution was found for this seemingly major issue.

I installed the Mac version of the program and it launched without issue. I can't use the Mac for Jamkazam because of a USB interface issue, but that isn't the problem at hand.

I have disabled my anti-virus, uninstalled and reinstalled, etc. but still get just a briefly fla$ng spinning circle next to my cursor and then...nothing.

In my many years of using a Windows PC, this is one of the few times I have ever had a program simply not launch. It may even be the only time.

I have read in some other threads where people have installed previous versions of the client with some success, so I am hoping that is an option here unless someone can guide me to a way to get up and running on my PC.

Any advice is welcome!

Thanks.

I have had no problem on Win10 with the install or launching the app. You might check the Windows Event Viewer for clues as to why it won't start. Also, you could try right-click on the JamKazam icon and click Troubleshoot compatibility. Both are long shots, but could help.

Thanks for the advice. The compatibility tool seemed to pick up on something (Windows 7 Compatibility, although I am running Windows 10) but didn't fix anything.

The Event Log does have an error, but will take me a while to even figure out the basics of what is going on:

Faulting application name: JamKazam.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5eb40dc1
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.18362.815, time stamp: 0x67005c2a

It would appear that KERNELBASE.dll is the culprit, but that is a rabbit hole to go down and it is JUST THIS PROGRAM that is giving me an issue.

If anyone has an intimate knowledge of the Windows OS and plenty of time on their hands...

I'm in the same boat. I'm running a windows 10 X64 bit system (as recommended) but the application appears to install itself as an x86 application? (I found it in Program Files x86 under the C drive.

I have the same errors in Event Viewer - the app is cra$ng upon startup.

There may very well be many more of us out there who have this issue but don't know how to get help.

I realize this is a free platform, so I can't really bitch about tech support, but this really needs to be addressed.

Subscribing to this thread in the hopes that someone finds a solution. Just downloaded JamKazam for the first time today myself, have not seen the client open once. As soon as I click on it, my CPU usage shoots to 100% and the app crashes. I've tried re-installing, clearing the registry, everything suggested in all other threads on this subject on the forum, no dice.

It's a shame, because this company should be going gangbusters during the pandemic.

It seems like serious problems.

I would then do a total reinstall of Windows.

Yes, the application appears to install itself as an x86 application.

The exe file is "C:\Program Files (x86)\JamKazam\JamKazam.exe".

It is surely interesting.

I had a problem last week with an automatic update that crashed. After that I could not start the program.

I tried downloading the latest version and rerunning the install, that got most the way through and then failed.
I tried uninstalling JamKazam to start again afresh.
Windows couldn't uninstall it (no msi file).

I then followed the procedure on this Microsoft page ...
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help...or-removed
... and then reinstalled again and "Ta Da" everything worked again.

I hope this helps.
