Mac OSX Catalina with JamKazam
#1
Question
macbookpro (2019, under Catalina) the following messages appear opening it and opening sessions
"Video.ini: configuration update failed (not writable)
Audio.ini: configuration update failed (not writable)
Clients.ini: configuration update failed (not writable)"

one point usefull:
I had "Unable to create folder: /JamKazam/JamTracks/
Unable to create folder: /JamKazam/JamTracks/cb4bOaea-xxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxx
the it's open but of course problems of configuration"
Peter told me
"The write permissions on these folders need to set:
sudo chmod -R +rw ~/.config"
and this point looks OK now.

Can you try to run the app/program as root?

(once is probably enough(?))

i tried it, but now really as root (i'm not too advanced user) with the terminal but admin.
pbs  .ini like audio.ini have disapeared, just get it now
"Unable to create folder: /JamKazam/JamTracks/" and
Unable to create folder: /JamKazam/JamTracks/cb4bOaea-xxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxx"
if it's re
it's one step ahead ! thanks Dimitri.
something else to try?

Sorry, to much trouble to translate that whole thing.
But, don't mess with stuff you cannot oversee.

I found that in english
https://howtomacos.com/2019/11/01/disabl...-catalina/
Apple has anticipated the user's request (for the moment) and it looks planed in the system.
and very simple.

Hi. I did all that is possible.
Contacted the Apple support.
Asked to the creator of JamKazam app.
Disabled System Integrity Protection (SIP). Disabled Gate Keeper.
Edit permissions in the parameters of security.
Without result.
JamKazam is the only app doing that.
And always runing OK on my old MacBookPro 2009…
Has somebody another suggestion?

Puzzling & annoying, sorry you're running into all these challenges.

Now, have you - completely - removed the client/all (sub-)folders/config/data/pertaining *.plist ? (am I missing something?)

Get a fresh DL from the current version? & install?

Still, I myself (and I know many more) run this on latest Catalina without having to go through all you seem to be struggling with. So it definitely is possible and getting better all the time. Don't give up.

Just for my info - is the user you're running JKZ under, 'Admin' on your machine?

As a MacUser, i run my session from a bootable SSD drive. Still working great for me.
