Thanks to JK team

Not sure if it's a team or a sole developer.

Anyway, I understood that this project was stalled since a few years (correct me if I'm wrong) but got a "revival" since Covid19 confinement.

Is it perfect? No. Is it buggy sometimes? Yes. However, it helps us musicians to play music together with relatively acceptable latency. We could complain that latency is too high and sometimes variable but hey, it's free and we can make music together. It's hard for me as a drummer but we will try the built-in metronome next time.

It's better to make imperfect music (rhythmic wise) than not playing with friends at all!

So, thanks and take care

Thanks for posting this Patrice. I wholeheartedly agree with giving kudos to the JK folks behind this great tool for keeping musicians connected!

I'm still waiting on an Ethernet cable so my kudos will come later if it works. But on a practical note, I'm interested in understanding JamKazam's business model. Who's paying for this and keeping the lights on? If bootstrapping CPU- and storage- and network-dependent processes like (for me!) inability to upload an 8K avatar, or connect to a server to test latency is being held back by money, I'm sure some in the community would be interested in chipping in. How about a go-fund-me account or other means of contribution? Are you looking for a business partner? Do you want someone to buy JamKazam and put some serious resources into this project? Getting some visibility on the operational strategy might trigger helpful suggestions from people who know how to scale a good idea.

Now they're talking about shelter in place as being a rolling 18-month scenario. After checking out some options, JamKazam might be our best near term hope for musical sanity! Good luck and we're rooting for you!

Yes, I agree. I have purchased several jam tracks to support Jamkazam.

Ok, it's where I've read the story about JK being almost abandonware and suddenly reviving in those Covid days.
