Many thanks - this is very useful and explains why the volume suddenly changes on opening a mixer (and not touching anything else). I had decided to just use the mixers to control ‘what I hear’ and have everyone use their audio i/f gain to provide a decent non-clipping input that could be req]corded if wanted ... or more likely just jammed to.
