Almost 5 years later, but I had the same problem. With the knob all the way clockwise ("DAW") I could hear anything played by the computer but not myself. I participated in a session (in Norway, from Canada) successfully with the knob backed off from DAW by about 20%, but that is not the recommended practice. I also tried it with Adobe Audition and there was no response on the VU meters with the knob all the way to DAW.
I played around with this for quite some time, and after looking again at the UR22C manual decided to try the dspMixFx utility that comes with the UR22C drivers, just to see if I could get some more information on it. As soon as I ran it, it asked me if I wanted to upgrade the firmware. I did, and after that I noticed two new devices in JamKazam (Left and Right Streaming) plus the original Left and Right ASIO. I still used the latter and all the setup was the same, but after than it worked with DAW all the way clockwise. I tested it with a session between Ireland, UK and Wa$ngton later on in the day (today).
