Mac OS Monterey JK freezes up and latency

Hi,
I have a Roland TDK17 into a mixer that has audio inputs to my Motu M4.  Jamkazam seems to freeze on me from time to time.  In addition, my latency on JK is 11 but only 2.9 with Ableton.  Something is messed up in JK!  USBC connection to the mac from Motu.  How do I fix the latency and why is JK freezing up?  Thanks.

Me too. Freshly installed Monterey on my Mac Studio M1 Max, MOTU M4 connected from Thunderbolt to USB_C. Thought this should be the best combination for a clean and high end connection. Had a session with terrible disturbances and red lights.
