Should be similar setup though for any DAW in MacOS.Wow, maybe we can tweak the CoreAudio latency this way. Thanks for the detailed description. RE: DAW into JamKazam? - GDJ - 05-12-2020 When I tried using the DAW methond, the latency increased back to JK regardless of lowering the buffer. Aren't we adding another layer in the signal chain with this method? I'm curios what he point is? I have a zero latency interface (MOTU), and instead of the DAW use CueMix which is zero latency - DSP. RE: DAW into JamKazam? - bullmoon - 05-12-2020 I am doing this with my DAW and other audio software. Probably different solutions depending on your audio interface. I use an RME Fireface interface with TotalMix that allows audio outputs to be looped back into other audio inputs(without using a patch cable), just as if they were an audio source. I think MOTU and a few others have this feature - super handy. RE: DAW into JamKazam? - GDJ - 05-12-2020 (05-12-2020, 05:33 PM)bullmoon Wrote: I am doing this with my DAW and other audio software. I do not use the VSTs pulled into JK, and pretty much use hardware effects but it would be cool to see if can run DSP effects through the DAW setup with individual channels too. And yes, MOTU is a zero latency interface with a GUI front end called CueMix (not a DAW). It allows for custom mixes and has onboard DSP effects for Verb, Dynamic: compression, limiter, and EQ. In my case I have 8 analog I/O, using pairs of 1-2 (l/r), 3-4, and 5-6. Translates into three tracks in JK.. and works nicely. I eliminated the need for a hardware mixer in front of the interface mixing down to channels 1 & 2. Less noise introduced in the chain too. I think my next setup will be with my iPad in front of JK. I recently moved all my pedals to the iPad and like the sound I'm getting. I have a Melo Audio TS Mega MIDI controller as the I/O, which is also an interface. good conversation RE: DAW into JamKazam? - Filote - 05-25-2020 (04-30-2020, 10:11 PM)emcquaid Wrote: I posted this to the FB group JamKazam Jammers. RE: DAW into JamKazam? - Mike Giamberardino - 05-27-2020 The way I do it is using the Reastream plugin which is available from the reaplugins on the reaper website. Its totally free and is just a plugin. so you simply have to throw it on your master bus in your daw and have it as a plugin on an insturment track in jamkazam. will work with any DAW just make sure you get the 32bit one I don't think jamkazam can load 64bit plugins RE: DAW into JamKazam? - Filote - 05-27-2020 I'm on a Mac. Just got LoopBack by Rogue Amoeba, works great & simple to patch in. RE: DAW into JamKazam? - Nick Costa - 06-02-2020 (05-27-2020, 11:50 PM)Filote Wrote: I'm on a Mac. I'm using Logic Pro X 10.5. I've created the Aggregate device described earlier. Black Hole is installed. I've tried it, using the guidance Eric provided, and have had no luck thus far. Tonight JK has been cra$ng as soon as I press record, so there may be other issues. Hopefully that will resolve soon. Please advise. Also, are ther other details within the Reaper settings, preferences, etc.? How does JamKazam recognize the settings? Thanks. RE: DAW into JamKazam? - Zlartibartfast - 06-03-2020 Rather than add latency and CPU overhead, I run a DAW on one computer then JK on another. The DAW plays into the S/PDIF port of my audio interface, allowing me to play audio from DAW into JK Alternatively, I can connect my tape recorder or record player or whatever in place of the DAW. If you have hardware, use it rather than software! |
