Hi there:

I am using a Mac computer. Jamkazam recognizes my audio interface and sets up the inputs and outputs correctly. When I select a plug in however, it plays the pre plug in clean signal, rather than the post plug in sound. I should be hearing a distorted guitar sound, but I am hearing a clean guitar sound. Can someone advise as to what the issue may be?

Thank-you for your time and expertise.

TIA for your help.

I'm jamming a few times a week with musicians spread around the USA west coast using JamKazam. Until recently, I used physical instruments only (a Nord and a Hydrasynth) routed through a mixer and into my PC via a Focusrite Scarlett 4i4. I connect a mic to the Scarlett, too, for chitchat and "singing." That all works fine.

Then I got an Arturia Keylab 61 mk2 and started discovering the world of Arturia virtual instruments. As a person who grew up with Wurlitzer, Rhodes, and other electric pianos, ARP, Moog, and the rest of the world of analog synths and string emulators, etc., I can't believe the quality of sound and expression these tools make available. Naturally, I want to use them in my online jams. That's where things get tricky.

Via controls in the Focusrite UI and the JamKazam Audio Settings UI, I was able to use a loopback feature to route the output of Arturia virtual instruments to JamKazam, and my collaborators could hear them. Yay - sort of.

Using loopback also loops the other jammers' audio back at them - it creates an echo loop. Not yay.

I'm hoping someone familiar with these pieces can provide pointers on signal routing.

Thanks again,

I was a bit taken back when I started using the app and discovered that the WAVES plugins were not being recognized. I refused to give up and found a solution for getting these to work. Buckle up, because this procedure is somewhat complex. However, I believe most of your waves plugins will work if you use this.
One of the steps requires you to download a file from an independent developer on the interwebs. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! I am not the author and not responsible for any potential consequences. If it helps, I ran it on my system and have noticed no negative issues.

I got Amplitube 5 just over a week ago and found that when I next tried to use JamKazam it crashed within 10 seconds of starting or joining a session every time.

I can only use JK by deleting every single file related to Amplitube which is a shame as it wasn’t cheap.

I’m using a Mac which is still on Catalina as it’s too old to update any further but does anyone know if it’s possible to have Amp 5 on my Mac and still be able to use JK? Not sure if there is something in the settings that would allow them to coexist - even if it’s not possible to use it as a plug in for JK.

Also, I’ve tried several times to delete and re set up the audio gear and every time, when I select my audio interface (Motu M2) it makes a horrendously loud buzzing. If I ignore this and carry on with the set up it does all seem to work but I don’t think it should be making this sort of noise. Wondering if this could also be related to Amplitube but I haven’t done an audio gear set up for over a year so o don’t know if this has also changed recently.

Thx

my usb interface is an M-Audio M-track solo.
My account for Jamkazam is platinum.

Why is it so difficult to set up my guitar and host a session? So far if I play clean or start the 32bit bias fx 2 vst in jamkazam with clean amp settings
then it seems to work fine, green dots all the way down due to the many different attempts I made to setup my gear and play in jamkazam.

The second I turn on a high gain or distorted preset, my output chops like theres a constant static mute button being pressed every 2 seconds almost like a robot. My samples match in my windows input and output. How come I can't play distortion with my vst? I am guessing if I buy one of the hardware boxes designed by the Jamkazam team, my problems will magically disappear? Lol...

I have, I think, successfully jbridged Amplitube 5 to 32 bit.
However JK does not load the plugin for use upon scan.

I have gone through many settings, including changing UAC settings, setting Auxhost to run as admin, etc etc.
It is the only scan folder so only looking at bridged dll

At first the scan would invoke the auxhost and then jk would crash.
Now I dont see the auxhost (UAC setting change) but no load.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has resolved this issue and how.

I thought I would share my PC setup as I had to dig here and there to make it happen. My goal was to be able to mix a full band in a live setting (without me playing). I have issues using the Jamkazam audio mixer for various reasons :

The app is a bit slow on my PC (don't know why)

The sliders are not very smooth

VST usage is limited and not super easy to setup

Native controls like compressors are not easy to use

So, here is what I do. I connect my interface to a 32bit DAW (Reaper in my case). From there I use Rearoute to send my sound in Jamkazam (32bit). Please refer to the following post for more details :

REAPER + Jam Kazam via ReaRoute [TUTORIAL] - Cockos Incorporated Forums

Then, I am muting the track with ReaRoute that comes back from Jamkazam in Reaper. This brings back a full mix and is of no use for mixing.

NOTE - The "sound technician" needs to be in the Jamkazam session but won't play. You will get a bit of latency coming back from Jamkazam to Reaper unfortunately using Reastream. If you just bring a full mix back with Rearoute, you will be able to play with the band and send your audio to OBS (see next steps). But you won't be able to mix individual tracks.

Next, I use Reastream (32bit) to connect each musicians tracks to Reaper. Once this is complete, I send the master mix out of Reaper to OBS via Reastream. Please follow this guide for more details :
To get each musician's track in Reaper, I go in the Jamkazam's mixer and add the VST Reastream using the method explained in the video above. Create one track per musician in Reaper and link them to Jamkazam with Reastream.

Add FX required on each track in your DAW depending on what is coming through (guitar, vocals, bass, keys, etc.)

Once this is completed, I use a virtual cable to get out of OBS and send the audio to Zoom. To do so, install the virtual cable B. Then in OBS you need to set the monitoring device to Virtual Cable B in Settings - Audio - Advanced

VB-Audio Virtual Apps (vb-audio.com)

NOTE - You could also stream it directly from OBS on other platforms. For Zoom, you need a transition setup between Reaper and Zoom and the best performance I got was this way. I tried Voicemeeter and other solutions but I could not get any good sound out of it.

Zoom allows you got receive and send a Stereo signal to the audience. Please refer to this link for more information on setting up the Stereo sound in Zoom :

NOTE - Zoom does frequent upgrades so these options may changes in future version but at least you know what to look for at this point. Also, to really have the proof of Stereo, have a buddy join your Zoom session to test it out and confirm or join your own Zoom session on a second device and listen. Recording Zoom sessions will be converted to MONO... for now... and if you try "Test the mic" you won't hear the stereo as well. Only Zoom attendants will hear the Stereo.

And boom voilà! You get a full band audio in Stereo in Zoom. Use the PAN in the DAW on tracks and FX and have fun!

Note - In the Jamkazam mixer I find that the pre/post amp helps if it's turned on. You may use some Make-up gain if a musician's level is very low. But ideally each musician should make sure to send a strong and clear signal to Jamkazam for you to use in your mix. They should ideally send a signal with no reverb so that you can control it on your end. Each musician must make sure their setup is balanced. Ex : clean guitar VS distortion VS singing with an instrument. Musicians can add input tracks in their Jamkazam, but you will only get one track on their output! So if a singer plays guitar, they need to balanced their sound as good as possible to make your job easier. I would love to get multiple inputs from musicians using more than one thing on their end.

Hi,

Suddenly the MIDI channel dissapeared from Audio Gear configuration.
I try to add a MIDI channel and select MIDI interface and VST.
But when I select any other instrument but "Electric guitar" it resets the selections I made (including Instrument).
If I only select MIDI interface and VST (without selecting Instrument) and click OK, window closes but no MIDI channel is added.

Is this a limitation of free suscription?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hey everyone,

I've seen posts on other forums of users successful with Superior Drummer though not seeing any posts here so thought I would ask if anyone has been successful.

I'm using the 32 bit version though JK does not even find it

Downloaded Jbridge as someone so kindly recommended on here and THAT WORKED for the 64 bit version of Bias FX 2, though NOT working for Superior Drummer 2.0 32 bit version as is or jbridged OR Superior Drummer 3 64 bit ran through jbridge

My band and I are ready to pay for the top license for JK but ONLY if we can get it to work. My next attempt will be running the audio out of my laptop through my Behringer UHD404HD and seeing if that works, though direct plugin support is ideal...otherwise we're just going to stick with Jamulous which is completely free.
