Mac Error - Audio System Unstable - Unable to Shutdown Audio Output subsystem
#31
Hi Folks,

Legacy poster / moderator here. I have a ticket out to support because I finally made the jump to M1 with my MOTU Interface. Monterey came installed and things were working until the Ventura Update. I’m dead in the water with JK now. I just want to express, while all software developers have been busy doing their best to push updates to work with Mac OS releases, JamKazam has not. I agree with the frustration and pressure needs to be applied to the development team about this because there’s been plenty of time to push an update. The so called “solution” is not, a solution. It’s a workaround and in no way should users paying generous subscription fees be responsible for living with these issues. I will be writing the JK developers, personally. My interface and other apps work fine.

I will be checking this post, as I am curious if there will be response from support. This is a MAJOR failing in my opinion. The Apple silicon has been out for over 2 years, and JamKazam is still lagging behind? Couple this with outage a few months ago due to an expired certificate, it is mind boggling.

Get this!. Support got back to me with a link to an update for the mac client, they say it addresses the issue. I did respond asking if  / when it will be pushed, and when it will be posted.

If they are unable to provide a firm ETA, i will ask if it's okay if i provide the link, here in the forum. Also, i can may create a Mac post for it too.

I'm in the process of downgrading my M1 MINI  to monterey due to the pesky coreaudiod process that seemed to make it's way in with Ventura. Among other things, it didn't help that my MOTU driver is not fully compatible with Ventura, yet, either. So i got hit hart with multiple conflicts and corrupted my OS. I'm pretty confident things will be stable on Monterey as they were before I decided to go to Ventura.

Stay Tuned

Update.

I've Been going back and forth with support today. They prefer I not post a link to their pre-release fix for this issue. I can appreciate their ask and understand the reasons why. That said, they did say, please contact them by opening a help ticket.   https://www.jamkazam.com/help_desk. They will probably point you to the link!

  • In their own words, “It probably goes without saying that we are WAY looking forward to a new release. This particular issue has by far been our biggest support issue since Big Sur came out”

  • ETA on posting official fix? ‘about a month’ was expressed but personally, I won’t hold them to it because I’m satisfied they are aware and have a pre-release version, for the asking.

  • To help leverage this post and make it more visible, I have changed the original poster's subject title from: "New installation-getting an error when launching the app”. Changed To: MAC Error - Audio System Unstable - Unable to Shutdown Audio Output subsystem

Hopefully no one is in disagreement with this change because it’s a valuable post with good information.
