Upgraded to Catalina, now it says my HW isn’t connected

I am having the same exact problem. I am able to successfully use Jamkazam on a laptop that is OS 10.13.6. Using the same equipment and same set up procedure, I cannot connect on a laptop with OS 10.15.7. My audio gear set up is successful, but when I go into session on the newer laptop, I have no audio.
