Panning and Volume
#11
I have a report to file on this topic.
It does matter what hardware/OS setup you are using with JK. Different configurations yield different results in the session input controls.

My jam partner is on Windows 10 with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. She uses 2 input tracks, both single channel.
I'm on Mac Catalina with a MOTU 828es. I have 2 single channel tracks and one stereo track.

When I adjust pan or volume on my input tracks in the session window, she hears the change, and I do not.
When she adjusts pan or volume on her input tracks, no one hears any change.

Adjustments to the pan or volume of the personal mix work as expected for each player.
We've left the input side alone in the past. Setting the levels with the hardware is easier for me.
Using the personal mix to control pan works fine for us, so this "bug" hasn't bugged me before

Just stating for the record, i stand corrected. Changing the panning does affect what other players hear. Thanks for nudging me to recheck what I said Smile

The key, I discovered, is to have at least one of the channels be a 'stereo' channel.  For example, in Audio Gear Setup, Channel 1 uses Input 1, Channel 2 uses Input 2, and Channel 3 uses Input 3 AND Input 4.  So, even if you have no use for channel 3 (I use it for a stereo drum machine), set it up anyway, then your other channels will pan correctly.  Of course, if you don't have unused outputs on your Audio Interface (for example, a Focusrite 2i2 with both inputs used), you can't do this.  I consider this a JamKazam bug with a workaround for those who have available JamKazam inputs.

This makes sense and may explain why my panning is heard correctly for others. I use an 8 I/O MOTU interface, which is 4 stereo tracks in JK
