Thunderbolt 3 Interface Suggestions
#11
bump -

I've been using a MOTU 828es for about 3 weeks now. This is a TB2 box connected to the computer with a TB3 -> TB2 adapter

latency has never been anything other than 2.7ms

The M series boxes have the same performance in a smaller package for less money

Has anybody tried using a TB3 interface with Windows 10?

I have a beefy ThinkPad workstation and I'm looking to get lower latency than I get with my Focusrite Scarlett.

Success depends on several requirements.
Does your USB3 port support the Thunderbolt (3) protocol.
Does your intended AI have a dedicated TB driver for Win. (I believe there is older generic Intel software available)
Is your combined HW/SW platform 'willing' to play along.

But, what is your current AI latency? (ASIO?)
In Win10 +/- 4ms can be achieved without breaking the bank.

For a lot of users, far more can be gained on the network/internet-connection side of things.

I have a TB3 port, yes. I sometimes use it with an eGPU.
