I have yet to test this, but when setting up audio gear, is it best to set sample rate high like 96k to get lower latency? I would have thought the opposite but maybe not?

Short answer is to set at 48KHZ.... I believe JK converts/prefers this Sample Rate ... and yes 48 give slightly better latency than 44.1

Yes, set it at 48 kHz - in fact, JamKazam recommend that
... or at least did earlier
