Need help with setting up Scarlet 2i2 Gen3. Please! - catrambull - 04-13-2020 Hi i have been following the Videos to set up the Scarlet 2i2 gen 3 to work with Jamkazam on Windows 10 and have run into many problems. At this time I cannot get past the latency test. For the input and outputs I've selected ASIO , and have tried various Sample Rates and Buffer Sizes. The streaming settings are currently at 48000 and 120. After I do the latency test, it says that the latency cannot be predicted and to run an audio loopback test. I performed the loopback test as described in the video by unplugging the jack from my guitar and into the headphone jack on the scarlet. The loopback test just runs on and on never giving a result. I also tried the WDM setting for the inputs and outputs, and although I would sometimes get poor or fair latency results, it proved unworkable when attempting to Jam online. I will add that I downloaded the latest driver from Focusrite for the Scarlet and I am able to get good sound in my Headphones from my guitar in Channel 1 and Microphone in Channel 2. Any suggestions would be most welcome! RE: Need help with setting up Scarlet 2i2 Gen3. Please! - phil@robinson5.net - 05-07-2020 I see it's been 3 weeks - perhaps you've figured things out... I'm using the 2i2 Gen 3 with ASIO drivers and have gotten the latency down to a little under 10ms - not great but acceptable. Still trying things to improve it beyond that... I have never run into the problems you are seeing. A couple thoughts: - Is your PC relatively new, and with plenty of CPU horsepower and memory? I tried it first with an old PC and it was an utter fail. Put it on my new laptop and it was much better. - Are you connecting your 2i2 directly to the computer? No USB hub, no long USB cables... - did you install the Focusright ASIO drivers, or third party drivers? - Did you install the Focusright control program, and use it to change your sample rate? I started at 96K and got 12ms latency, maxed out the sampling rate to get the JKZ reported latency below 10ms. I'm interested to hear how (and if) you've progressed... RE: Need help with setting up Scarlet 2i2 Gen3. Please! - dekeen - 05-09-2020 I have the same issue as catrambull. But when I try to change the Asio settings I usually get the bsod. Checked all drivers, cables, etc. Been researching for days with no luck so far. RE: Need help with setting up Scarlet 2i2 Gen3. Please! - MartinB - 07-21-2020 I had the same problem with my Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen when updating the Scarlett Control software to the newest version 3.6.0. Fortunately I still had the installation file for the old version (3.5.0). Going back solved the problems. I contacted the Focusrite support which acknowledged the problem but blamed the JamKazam software. As a workaround they recommended to go into Manage / Audio Settings / Audio Booster and reduce the Frame Size to 1 ms or 2 ms there. RE: Need help with setting up Scarlet 2i2 Gen3. Going back solved the problems.I just setup my Scarlett 2i2 on a Dell XPS8700 16GB RAM Intel i7-4790 with SSD, a screaming fast Win10 PC, and cannot get latency below 80ms. Where can I get the older version of the Scarlett Control Software? Can I get it from you via OneDrive or iCloud? I have spent about 2 hrs fooling with JamKazam to try to get my latency down, but no matter what I change in buffer size, it resets to 880 and my latency is 80ms. I am running win10 16GB RAM i7-4650 CPU and SSD drive, https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360014938579 Set the Frame Size to 2ms, Sampling to 48000 and buffer will end up at 96. Latency I get is 8, jitter 0-.4ms depends on other software that is running. Go into Task Manager and kill any software that is running in the background like Chrome, etc. If you need more help, be happy. I killed about 5 hrs getting to this point. Havent tested with someone else yet. I am in the NYC area and play Cello for 5 years. Please! - MartinB - 07-23-2020 JamKazam support still only recommends to change Scarlett 2i2 parameters outside JamKazam or with the JamKazam Manage tool. |
