At this point I am not that concerned with exact latency so can I just use my PC camera & its mic to jam with one or two others?

In theory, yes.
Audio depends mostly on your sound cards' capabilities (JamKazam will not allow 'high latency gear' taking part in peer-sessions)
(I do believe that a minimum 'Silver' subscription is needed to use any kind of video)
