No one hears chat microphone - kridle@gmail.com - 08-27-2020

I am running JK on a 2015 Macbook Pro running Mojave with a Native Intruments Komplete Audio 6 Interface.  Interface works great with other apps, Garage Band, etc.

Channel 1 input:   LD Condenser mike under piano
Channel 2 input:   Shure SM57 on boom in front of my face at keyboard and configured in JK as chat mike.

Chat mike shows up as separate input box when I join a session.   VU indicator shows activity and I can hear myself speaking in headphones.

No one else in  session can hear my chat mike.   I am only heard faintly through plaino mike located far way from mouth.

Clues?

Don't configure it as a "chat mic" when using a microphone via your audio device or mixing desk. Just treat it as any other channel you would use with either an instrument or mic attached.

BTW - the fact that you CAN hear yourself (through this mic?) in your cans could possibly mean you have 'local monitoring' switched on, which is not recommended while being in a session with others.

Thanks much for the suggestion.  I will definitely do that.  I don't have local monitoring on which makes me still wonder what is actually going on.  Is the chat mike treated in some special way.
